## Description

1 Resource Group is seeking a skilled Specialty Welder with expertise in pipe and pressure vessel welding and/or aluminum and exotic alloy fabrication. This position operates across both our fabrication shop and customer field sites, producing high-quality welds to ASME, AWS, and applicable code standards. The ideal candidate takes pride in precision workmanship, holds multiple current certifications, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

-   Perform GTAW (TIG), SMAW (Stick), GMAW (MIG), and FCAW welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, chrome-moly, aluminum, Inconel, titanium, and other exotic alloys as required by project specifications.
-   Weld pipe systems and pressure vessels to ASME Section VIII and B31.3 piping code requirements.
-   Interpret and work from engineering drawings, isometrics, weld maps, WPS (Weld Procedure Specifications), and PQRs.
-   Perform fit-up, tacking, and final welding of pipe spools, pressure vessels, and structural components.
-   Conduct pre-heat and interpass temperature monitoring in accordance with applicable welding procedure.
-   Perform visual weld inspections and document weld records;.
-   Maintain proper care and operation of welding equipment including machines, torches, and safety gear.
-   Follow all site safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and applicable safety standards; participate in daily JSA/toolbox talks.
-   Travel to field sites and customer facilities as assigned; work in varied environments including refineries, petrochemical plants, gas processing, and other industrial sites.
-   Perform testing on piping and pressure vessels to identify potential leaks and work with supervision to develop and implement a repair to the pipe or vessel.
-   Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and inspectors to meet project milestones and quality standards.

## Requirements

-   Minimum 5 years of hands-on welding experience with demonstrated expertise in at least two of the following: pipe/pressure vessel, stainless steel, aluminum, or exotic alloys.
-   Current AWS or ASME Section IX welder qualifications; pipe welding certifications strongly preferred.
-   Proficiency in GTAW/TIG welding — open root pipe experience preferred.
-   Demonstrated ability to read and interpret weld symbols, P&IDs, isometric drawings, and weld maps.
-   Working knowledge of applicable codes: ASME B31.3, Section VIII; AWS D1.1/D1.2.
-   Ability to pass client-specific or project-specific Welder Qualification Tests (WQTs) on demand.
-   Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
-   Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
-   Experience working under an ASME/NBBI R or U stamp repair program.
-   Experience in gas processing, LNG, chemical processing, or oil refining environments.
-   TWIC card or ability to obtain one.
-   Completion of an accredited welding technology program or registered apprenticeship.
-   Willing to travel.
