We have an exciting opportunity for a Temporary **Support Officer (Part-time)** to join our team, providing person-centred support to older people, vulnerable adults.

This is a rewarding role where no two days are the same. You'll work closely with customers to help them maintain their independence, build confidence and develop the skills they need to live independently. Whether you're supporting someone to access the right services, helping them prepare for a move into more suitable accommodation or simply being there during a difficult time, you'll play a vital role in improving lives and creating positive outcomes.

Working alongside a wide range of partner organisations and community services, you'll help ensure customers receive the practical and emotional support they need, whilst promoting wellbeing, independence and safer living.  **Please note:** This is a **temporary, part-time position** working **18.5 hours per week**. The working pattern is:

-   Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday: **10:00am – 2:30pm**
-   Friday: **9:30am – 2:30pm**

## Requirements

### _Outline of Key Responsibilities..._

-   Deliver person-centred support tailored to each customer's individual needs, goals and aspirations.
-   Support older people, vulnerable adults and customers experiencing homelessness to maintain their independence and improve their wellbeing.
-   Complete and regularly review support plans, risk assessments and outcome-focused support with customers.
-   Provide practical and emotional support, including responding to crisis situations where required.
-   Work closely with health professionals, social care teams, housing services and other partner agencies to coordinate support.
-   Support customers to explore suitable housing options and prepare for moving into independent or more appropriate accommodation.
-   Encourage customers to develop life skills, confidence and resilience to achieve positive long-term outcomes.
-   Promote safeguarding, wellbeing and the safety of customers, identifying and responding appropriately to concerns.
-   Facilitate activities, resident meetings and community engagement opportunities that encourage inclusion and reduce isolation.
-   Help maintain safe, welcoming and well-managed schemes by supporting health and safety procedures, reporting repairs and monitoring communal areas.
-   Maintain accurate records, support plans, case notes and monitoring information using internal systems.
-   Respond professionally to customer enquiries, concerns and complaints, resolving issues wherever possible.

-   Experience working in a customer-focused support environment.
-   Experience supporting older people, vulnerable adults or disadvantaged individuals.
-   Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive and trusting relationships.
-   A caring, compassionate and person-centred approach to supporting others.
-   An understanding of safeguarding and the importance of protecting vulnerable people.
-   The ability to manage challenging situations calmly, professionally and with empathy.
-   Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload effectively.
-   The confidence to work independently whilst recognising when to seek advice and support.
-   Experience working collaboratively with partner organisations and external agencies.

**Please note:** This is a **temporary, part-time position** working **18.5 hours per week**. The working pattern is:

-   Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday: **10:00am – 2:30pm**

The **full-time equivalent salary** is **£27,510 per annum**. The **actual salary for 18.5 hours per week is £13,755 per annum**, with an **hourly rate of £14.30**.
