# Project Manager, Carbon - APAC

> 3Degrees · Singapore, Singapore · Full-time · Posted 2026-08-19

**Workplace:** on_site

**Department:** Carbon Markets

## Description

_**Every day, we work together for what matters -- bold, swift, and equitable climate action.**_

**ABOUT THE ROLE**

The Carbon Project Operations team supports, develops, and manages high-integrity projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and monetize environmental benefits through voluntary and compliance carbon markets. Unlike more established carbon-market operations, this role focuses on early-stage project structures within compliance markets and bilateral carbon frameworks, particularly Article 6.2 and CORSIA.

As a Project Manager, you will bridge early-stage origination and diligence with rigorous post-signature project execution. You will provide technical project-development and delivery capability in support of APAC carbon origination, leading technical diligence, feasibility analysis, project documentation, and field-based Measurement, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) for priority opportunities and contracted projects. This role requires a unique balance of commercial acumen and strong technical and analytical grounding, with the ability to evaluate technology- and community-based project types, including waste management and landfills, renewable energy, and energy-efficiency or cookstove projects, while ensuring alignment with Singapore’s national carbon compliance demand. You will partner closely with the Lead Originator, APAC, and the Senior Director, Carbon Project Operations, to advance high-integrity projects from early-stage evaluation through implementation and ongoing MRV.

This is a full-time, exempt role based in Singapore and focused on supporting 3Degrees' APAC business. This role reports to the Lead Originator, APAC, with a dotted-line relationship to the Senior Director, Carbon Project Operations. Frequent travel, sometimes on short notice, is required to project sites in Asia, Africa, and other destinations as business needs arise. Please note: 3Degrees does not provide sponsorship and/or relocation assistance, therefore, pre-existing right-to-work status is a prerequisite to be considered for this position.

**WHAT YOU'LL DO**

In this role, you will assess and evaluate carbon project opportunities while managing the full lifecycle of diverse projects across multiple programs, with a particular focus on Article 6, CORSIA, and other relevant carbon frameworks. You will ensure that project development, implementation, reporting, and verification activities comply with applicable standards, program rules, and commercial objectives. More specifically, this role will focus on the following activities:

Early-Stage Diligence & Pre-Feasibility

- Evaluate early-stage invitations, municipal project proposals, and local project developer leads across target geographies (e.g., Indonesia, Thailand, Bhutan, Rwanda, Kenya).
- Conduct back-of-the-envelope and initial technical/financial assessments to determine if opportunities meet Singapore Article 6.2 compliance buyer criteria.
- Review third-party technical reports, financial models, and site data to develop clear feasibility, delivery-risk, and MRV recommendations for the Lead Originator, APAC, the Senior Director, Carbon Project Operations, and relevant APAC stakeholders.

Feasibility Studies & Project Documentation

- Lead comprehensive feasibility studies in collaboration with local operating partners, identifying technical, operational, and carbon accounting gaps.
- Support and drive the drafting of Project Description Documents for vetted opportunities.
- Partner with APAC colleagues to ensure technically viable, risk-mitigated projects are ready to advance through commercial structuring and contracting.

On-the-Ground Execution & MRV Management

- Lead field-based site visits to inspect physical assets (e.g., landfill gas capture, cookstove deployments, waste-to-energy facilities), validate data, and resolve discrepancies.
- Manage long-term MRV implementation, setting up data collection models, quality control systems, and monitoring plans to support carbon credit issuances.
- Engage constructively with local governments, community groups, local developers, and regulatory authorities to maintain project momentum.

Operational Systems & Tools

- Establish scalable data-processing techniques, project-tracking mechanisms, and documentation practices across APAC pipeline projects.
- Identify recurring workflow, data-quality, and project-delivery gaps, and partner with the Senior Director, Carbon Project Operations, to improve shared tools, templates, and operating practices.

## Requirements

**ABOUT YOU**

You are a highly motivated, mission-driven environmental professional eager to develop and implement high-impact carbon projects. You combine strong project management discipline and attention to detail with commercial awareness, and you are comfortable moving from early-stage project evaluation to on-the-ground execution. You are independent, resourceful, and solutions-driven, with the ability to balance strategic thinking and hands-on project work. You bring an investigative mindset and the judgment to engage constructively with local stakeholders in diverse operating environments.

- 5–8 years of hands-on experience in carbon markets, project development, renewable energy, environmental commodities, or related technical fields.
- Strong knowledge of Article 6.2 bilateral frameworks, CORSIA, and major voluntary/compliance carbon standards (e.g., Verra, Gold Standard).

- Experience preparing project documentation and supporting validation, verification, and/or registry processes under voluntary or compliance carbon programs.
- Commercial & Technical Mindset: Grounded in technical rigor (engineering/data analysis) without losing sight of commercial viability.
- Interpersonal & Cultural Agility: Proven track record of building trust with diverse stakeholders, from local project developers in emerging markets to government officials.
- Data Mastery: Proficiency in advanced Excel modelling, custom carbon calculation tools, and technical writing.

- Ability and willingness to travel frequently, including at short notice, and to work effectively in field settings. This role includes approximately 20% international travel to lead on-site technical project discussions and build cross-border relationships with counterparties in support of successful project implementation across Asia and Africa.
- A degree in engineering, environmental science, a quantitative discipline, or a related field is preferred. We also welcome candidates who have built comparable technical expertise through relevant professional experience, training, or other educational pathways. An advanced degree is a plus.

**HOW WE DEFINE SUCCESS**

In this role, you will work alongside members of the Global Carbon and APAC teams to achieve strategic growth and execution goals across the region. Success factors specific to this role include:

- Draft or significantly advance a Project Description Document for a vetted project opportunity in alignment with relevant program rules (Article 6.2 / CORSIA).
- Refine local MRV data collection models and establish quality control protocols for projects transitioning from feasibility to execution.

Within the First 6 Months

- Deliver actionable feasibility studies and risk-mitigation strategies for two or more viable projects, supporting their advancement through commercial structuring.
- Standardize and deploy scalable project tracking mechanisms and carbon calculation models across all pipeline operations in the APAC region.
- Establish long-term monitoring plans and robust data processing systems to support initial carbon credit issuance workflows for active project sites.
- Cultivate direct, reliable working relationships with local government bodies, operating partners, and municipal stakeholders across key project markets.
