_**This is a 12 months fixed-term contract role.**_

**What will you do?**

We are looking for an Agile Coach to embed agile ways of working, delivery discipline and a product-oriented culture across JTC’s Digital Factory. This role focuses on coaching squads, product owners, engineering leads and management stakeholders to deliver digital products and AI-enabled solutions with greater speed, quality, transparency and accountability.

The successful candidate will operate at both team and organizational levels — coaching individual squads on agile practices while helping leadership shape the operating model, delivery governance and continuous improvement mechanisms. The role works across platform engineering, product teams, cybersecurity, data, AI, finance and leadership stakeholders to establish agile guardrails, delivery cadences and healthy delivery metrics that enable faster and safer outcomes.

**Key Responsibilities**

- • Coach squads, product owners, scrum masters and engineering leads on agile principles, frameworks and delivery practices, tailored to the context of enterprise and regulated environments.
- • Establish and evolve agile ways of working across the Digital Factory, covering backlog management, sprint cadences, planning, estimation, prioritisation and definition-of-done across sandbox, QA, UAT and production workflows.
- • Coach product owners on outcome-based delivery, roadmap shaping, value prioritisation, stakeholder alignment and translating business goals into well-formed backlogs.
- • Facilitate agile ceremonies, workshops, retrospectives, release planning and cross-team synchronisation to strengthen collaboration and flow across squads.
- • Help teams adopt a system-of-systems, product-oriented mindset that supports reusable capabilities, dependency management and scaled delivery across multiple squads.
- • Introduce and embed delivery metrics — flow, velocity, cycle time, predictability, quality and team health — and coach teams to use them for continuous improvement rather than surveillance.
- • Partner with platform engineers and DevOps practitioners to align agile delivery with CI/CD, automation, golden paths and engineering excellence practices.
- • Coach leadership on agile governance, funding models, portfolio prioritisation, dependency resolution and removing organisational impediments to delivery.
- • Champion a culture of psychological safety, experimentation, learning and continuous improvement across teams and management forums.
- • Design and run agile capability-building programmes, including training, communities of practice, coaching clinics and onboarding for new squads and augmented resources.
- • Document agile playbooks, delivery standards, coaching frameworks, retrospectives and lessons learned to support adoption, knowledge retention and continuous improvement.

## Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in agile delivery, agile coaching, scrum mastering or delivery leadership, including significant experience coaching multiple teams in enterprise or regulated environments.

• Deep, practical mastery of agile frameworks and methods, including Scrum, Kanban and scaled approaches such as SAFe, LeSS or Scrum@Scale, with the judgement to adapt rather than apply them dogmatically.

• Strong experience coaching product owners and product teams on backlog management, outcome-based prioritisation, roadmap shaping and value delivery.

• Ability to coach at individual, team and organisational levels, meeting people where they are and tailoring interventions to context, maturity and constraints.

• Strong facilitation skills across planning, retrospectives, workshops, conflict resolution and cross-team coordination.

• Experience establishing and interpreting delivery metrics (flow, cycle time, predictability, quality, team health) to drive continuous improvement.

• Familiarity with modern software delivery practices, including CI/CD, automation, DevOps culture, engineering excellence and product operating models.

• Strong understanding of governance, compliance and delivery assurance in regulated settings, and the ability to reconcile agility with accountability and auditability.

• Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to coach and challenge senior leaders, technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.

• Comfortable working in an ambiguous, evolving, product-oriented environment where ways of working are improved incrementally through feedback.

**Preferred Skills**

• Experience operating in Government Commercial Cloud, public sector or regulated enterprise environments.

• Recognised agile certifications such as CSP, PSM II/III, ICP-ACC, ICP-ENT, SAFe SPC or equivalent coaching credentials.

• Experience coaching squads that blend permanent staff and augmented resources across onshore and offshore delivery models.

• Exposure to platform engineering, developer experience, internal platforms and golden-path adoption from a delivery-enablement perspective.

• Familiarity with Azure DevOps, GitHub, Jira, Azure Boards or equivalent tooling for backlog, flow and delivery visualisation.

• Experience designing agile transformation roadmaps, capability-building programmes, communities of practice and coaching operating models.

• Understanding of AI-enabled product delivery and how agile practices adapt to data, ML and AI product development.

**What Success Looks Like**

• Squads operate with clear cadences, healthy backlogs, predictable delivery and a shared definition of done.

• Product owners prioritise by outcomes and value, with roadmaps and backlogs that connect business goals to delivery.

• Teams use delivery and team-health metrics to improve continuously, supported by honest retrospectives and visible impediment resolution.

• Agile ways of working scale across squads and domains through reusable playbooks, communities of practice and coaching support.

• Leadership actively removes impediments, aligns funding and governance to agile delivery, and sustains a culture of trust and improvement.

• New squads and augmented resources onboard quickly into consistent, mature ways of working
