## Description

**About the Role**

The Accounting Manager will directly supervise these remote team members and should be comfortable with occasional business travel when needed. This is a remote role, initially offered under a contractor agreement.

**Key Responsibilities**

_Financial Reporting & Compliance_

-   Ensure compliance with accounting standards and all relevant regulatory requirements.
-   Prepare timely and accurate financial statements and management reports for internal leadership, auditors, and external stakeholders.
-   Support the VP Finance on statutory filings and maintain strong communication with regulatory authorities and external auditors.

_Financial Operations & Planning_

-   Manage end-to-end financial operations, including month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning.
-   Implement, maintain, and enhance internal financial controls and procedures.
-   Be responsible for preparations for annual audits

_Taxation_

-   Prepare and file accurate tax returns in compliance with Dutch tax laws.
-   Partner with tax advisors to optimize tax strategies and minimize liabilities.
-   _Systems, Data & Process Optimization_
-   Serve as the functional lead for our migration from Exact Online to a new, scalable ERP system.
-   Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data across multiple systems and platforms.
-   Partner with our IT team to implement "Automation First" workflows, reducing manual entry through API integrations for bank feeds, expenses, and AP/AR.

_Business Partnering_

-   Provide financial insights, scenario analyses, and data-driven recommendations to VPs and managers.
-   Act as a trusted advisor during our scale-up phase, supporting strategic and operational decision-making.

## Requirements

-   Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or a related field; CPA or equivalent qualification strongly preferred.
-   3-5 years of experience as an Accounting Manager or similar role.
-   In-house/business environment experience (in scale-ups, SaaS, or high-growth tech environments is a plus).
-   Strong recent knowledge of IFRS and general statutory compliance requirements.
-   Hands-on experience preparing and filing tax returns independently.
-   Experience with Dutch accounting standards and tax regulations is a strong plus.
-   Excellent command of English (our main working language).
-   High proficiency with financial systems and ERP software (Exact experience preferred).
-   Strong analytical skills, proactive problem-solving, and exceptional attention to detail.
-   Hands-on mindset and eagerness to continuously learn and adapt.
-   Comfortable working in a hybrid model, collaborating effectively with remote teammates.
-   You should feel comfortable working in a multicultural, English-speaking environment.
