**Alongside** is a Portuguese company that partners with international organizations to build and scale exceptional tech teams.

We are looking for a **Senior Python Engineer** to join a project in the **retail sector**.

We are looking for a highly experienced engineer with a strong Python background and solid knowledge of infrastructure and cloud environments. This is a Principal-level position requiring strong hands-on expertise with **Microsoft Azure, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), and Terraform**.

**Responsabilities:**

-   Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend solutions using Python.
-   Build and maintain APIs using FastAPI.
-   Take technical ownership of complex solutions, contributing to architectural and engineering decisions.
-   Work closely with cloud infrastructure running on Microsoft Azure.
-   Deploy and manage containerized applications using Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
-   Work with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
-   Contribute to the scalability, reliability, and performance of production systems.
-   Collaborate with engineering and infrastructure teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
-   Apply software engineering best practices and contribute to high technical standards across the project.

## Requirements

-   **12+ years of professional experience as a Python Engineer.**
-   Extensive hands-on experience with **Python**.
-   Strong experience developing APIs with **FastAPI**.
-   Strong hands-on experience with **Microsoft Azure**.
-   Strong hands-on experience with **Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)**.
-   Strong hands-on experience with **Terraform**.
-   Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure, containerization, and modern software architecture.
-   Ability to operate at Principal Engineer level, taking ownership of complex technical decisions and solutions.
-   Good understanding of software engineering best practices.
-   Experience with **CI/CD pipelines is a plus**.
-   Good level of English, both written and spoken.
