## Description

We are looking for an **Estimator** to prepare competitive bids for commercial and industrial electrical construction projects in an electrical subcontractor environment while taking ownership of the estimating process from bid invitation through project handoff. AlphaHire is recruiting on behalf of a client that performs commercial electrical work across new construction, tenant improvements, service upgrades, and industrial facilities. This position plays a critical role in securing new work by producing accurate estimates and collaborating closely with operations during project turnover. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience bidding commercial electrical projects.

**Responsibilities**

-   Prepare complete cost estimates for commercial and industrial electrical construction projects.
-   Perform quantity takeoffs from plans and specifications.
-   Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing to develop competitive proposals.
-   Prepare bid packages, scopes, clarifications, and pricing summaries.
-   Review project documents to identify scope gaps, risks, and value engineering opportunities.
-   Participate in pre-bid meetings and communicate with owners, general contractors, suppliers, and design teams.
-   Support project turnover by providing estimating documentation to operations after award.
-   Maintain estimating databases, historical pricing, and bid records for future projects.

## Requirements

-   5+ years of commercial electrical estimating experience.
-   Experience estimating commercial, industrial, or institutional electrical projects.
-   Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction drawings, and specifications.
-   Experience performing detailed quantity takeoffs and preparing complete bid proposals.
-   Proficiency with electrical estimating software and Microsoft Excel.
-   Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously.
-   Strong communication and organizational skills.
-   Residential-only estimating experience will not be sufficient.
