## Description

We are seeking an experienced **Licensed Mechanical Engineer (PE)** with strong hands-on expertise in **HVAC and MEP design** to join our team. This role will support a variety of **commercial, institutional, healthcare, municipal, veterinary, and other specialized facilities**.

The ideal candidate is a technically strong engineer who can independently design mechanical systems, perform engineering calculations, develop construction documents, and serve as the **Engineer of Record** throughout the project lifecycle. This is a hands-on engineering position—not a project management role—with significant responsibility for design quality, technical coordination, and construction support.

Responsibilities

-   Design and engineer HVAC and mechanical systems for commercial, institutional, healthcare, and specialized facilities.
-   Perform **HVAC load calculations, energy analysis, equipment selection, ventilation design, and other mechanical engineering calculations**.
-   Develop detailed construction drawings, specifications, equipment schedules, and technical documentation.
-   Serve as the **Engineer of Record**, providing technical oversight from concept and design through construction and project closeout.
-   Coordinate mechanical systems with architectural, structural, electrical, plumbing, and other disciplines.
-   Review and respond to RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and other construction-phase documentation.
-   Conduct field investigations, site visits, inspections, and construction observations.
-   Identify and resolve design, code, coordination, and constructability issues.
-   Develop practical, cost-effective engineering solutions that meet project requirements and client objectives.
-   Support commissioning, inspections, punch-list activities, and final project closeout.
-   Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, industry standards, energy requirements, and client specifications.
-   Review, seal, and take responsibility for engineering drawings and calculations as required.
-   Maintain high standards of technical accuracy, quality, and documentation throughout each project.

## Requirements

-   **Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.**
-   Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
-   **5+ years of mechanical engineering experience; 10+ years preferred.**
-   Proven hands-on experience designing **HVAC and MEP systems** for commercial and institutional facilities.
-   Strong knowledge of HVAC load calculations, equipment selection, ventilation, mechanical codes, and energy-efficiency requirements.
-   Proficiency with **AutoCAD, Revit MEP**, or comparable mechanical design software.
-   Experience developing, reviewing, and sealing engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations.
-   Strong technical, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
-   Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering, architectural, and construction teams.
-   **Hands-on mechanical/HVAC design experience is required.**
-   Experience with healthcare, municipal, institutional, veterinary, or other technically complex facilities is preferred.
-   Candidates whose backgrounds are primarily project management with limited hands-on mechanical design experience will not be considered.
