# Estimator - Commercial Interior Construction

## Description

We are seeking an experienced **Estimator** to prepare accurate and competitive bids for commercial interior construction projects.

This role will manage the estimating process from **bid invitation through project handoff**, including reviewing construction documents, performing detailed quantity takeoffs, obtaining vendor and subcontractor pricing, and developing complete project estimates for **drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, commercial flooring, and related interior finishes**.

The ideal candidate has strong commercial interior estimating experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple bids while working closely with Project Managers, subcontractors, vendors, and field teams.

Responsibilities

-   Prepare detailed estimates for commercial interior construction projects, including drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, flooring, and related finishes.
-   Review architectural drawings, specifications, contracts, and bid documents to determine project scope.
-   Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and calculate labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
-   Solicit, evaluate, and compare pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
-   Identify scope gaps, exclusions, constructability issues, project risks, and value engineering opportunities.
-   Prepare bid proposals, scope clarifications, pricing summaries, and supporting documentation.
-   Coordinate with Project Managers, field teams, suppliers, subcontractors, and clients throughout the estimating process.
-   Maintain estimating databases, historical pricing, bid records, and project documentation.
-   Support project turnover by providing estimate breakdowns, budget information, scope clarifications, and pricing assumptions.
-   Monitor material pricing, labor costs, market conditions, and industry trends to maintain accurate estimates.
-   Participate in post-bid reviews and help improve estimating processes and accuracy.

## Requirements

-   **3+ years of estimating experience in commercial drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, flooring, or related interior construction trades.**
-   **Commercial interior construction estimating experience is required.**
-   Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, materials, and estimating practices.
-   Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, contracts, and bid documents.
-   Proven experience performing detailed quantity takeoffs and preparing complete bid proposals.
-   Proficiency with estimating software such as **Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, PlanSwift**, or similar platforms.
-   Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
-   Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
-   Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines.
-   High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
