# Estimator - Commercial Interior Construction

## Description

We are seeking an experienced **Estimator** to prepare accurate and competitive bids for commercial interior construction projects.

The Estimator will manage the full estimating process from **bid invitation through project handoff**, including reviewing construction documents, completing detailed quantity takeoffs, obtaining vendor and subcontractor pricing, and developing comprehensive estimates for **drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, commercial flooring, and related interior finishes**.

The ideal candidate has strong **commercial interior construction estimating experience**, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines while working closely with Project Managers, subcontractors, vendors, and field teams.

Responsibilities

-   Prepare detailed estimates for commercial interior construction projects, including drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, flooring, and related finishes.
-   Review architectural drawings, specifications, contracts, and bid documents to determine project scope and requirements.
-   Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and calculate labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
-   Solicit, evaluate, and compare pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
-   Identify scope gaps, exclusions, constructability concerns, project risks, and value engineering opportunities.
-   Prepare bid proposals, scope clarifications, pricing summaries, exclusions, and supporting documentation.
-   Coordinate with Project Managers, field teams, suppliers, subcontractors, and clients throughout the estimating process.
-   Maintain estimating databases, historical pricing, bid records, and project documentation.
-   Support project handoff by providing estimate breakdowns, budget information, scope clarifications, assumptions, and pricing details.
-   Monitor material pricing, labor costs, market conditions, and industry trends to maintain accurate and competitive estimates.
-   Participate in post-bid reviews and identify opportunities to improve estimating processes and accuracy.
-   Assist with negotiated bids, conceptual budgets, change-order pricing, and other estimating opportunities as needed.

## Requirements

-   **3+ years of estimating experience in commercial drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, flooring, or related interior construction trades.**
-   **Commercial interior construction estimating experience is required.**
-   Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, materials, sequencing, and estimating practices.
-   Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, contracts, and bid documents.
-   Proven experience performing detailed quantity takeoffs and developing complete bid proposals.
-   Proficiency with estimating and takeoff software such as **Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, PlanSwift**, or similar platforms.
-   Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
-   Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
-   Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple bids, priorities, and deadlines.
-   High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
