## Description

We are seeking an experienced **Licensed Mechanical Engineer (PE)** with a strong background in **HVAC and MEP system design** for commercial buildings. This is a **technical engineering role** focused on the design, analysis, and documentation of mechanical systems—not project management.

The ideal candidate will lead mechanical design efforts from concept through construction, serving as the **Engineer of Record** while collaborating with architects, engineers, and construction teams. You'll work on a diverse portfolio of projects including **healthcare, commercial, municipal, institutional, veterinary, and other specialized facilities**.

### Responsibilities

-   Design HVAC and mechanical building systems for commercial and institutional projects
-   Perform engineering calculations, load analyses, and equipment selections
-   Prepare construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
-   Serve as the **Engineer of Record**, providing technical oversight throughout the design process
-   Coordinate mechanical designs with architectural, structural, electrical, plumbing, and other engineering disciplines
-   Review RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and other construction-phase documentation
-   Conduct field investigations, site visits, and construction observations as needed
-   Resolve design and constructability challenges by developing practical engineering solutions
-   Support commissioning, inspections, punch-list activities, and project closeout
-   Ensure designs comply with applicable building codes, industry standards, and client requirements
-   Maintain a high level of technical quality throughout all phases of project delivery

## Requirements

-   **Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required**
-   Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline
-   **5+ years of mechanical engineering experience; 10+ years preferred**
-   Strong experience designing **HVAC and MEP systems** for commercial buildings
-   Experience with healthcare, municipal, institutional, veterinary, or similarly complex facilities preferred
-   Proficiency with engineering calculations, HVAC load analysis, equipment selection, and construction documentation
-   Strong knowledge of applicable mechanical codes and industry standards
-   Ability to independently develop, review, and stamp engineering designs
-   Excellent technical, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
-   Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary design teams
-   **Hands-on mechanical design experience is required**
-   Candidates whose background is primarily project management without significant design responsibilities will not be considered
