## Description

We are seeking an experienced **Electrical Estimator** to develop accurate and competitive bids for commercial and industrial electrical construction projects throughout the Houston area.

The Estimator will manage the bidding process from **initial plan review through project handoff**, performing detailed takeoffs, analyzing project requirements, obtaining subcontractor and supplier pricing, and preparing complete proposals.

The ideal candidate has strong **commercial electrical estimating experience**, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple bids while collaborating with Project Managers, general contractors, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams.

Responsibilities

-   Prepare detailed estimates for commercial and industrial electrical construction projects.
-   Review electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, and bid documents to determine scope and pricing requirements.
-   Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted work.
-   Solicit, evaluate, and compare pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
-   Develop complete bid proposals, scope clarifications, pricing summaries, and value engineering recommendations.
-   Identify scope gaps, constructability issues, project risks, exclusions, and cost-saving opportunities.
-   Coordinate with Project Managers, general contractors, engineers, architects, vendors, and internal teams throughout the estimating process.
-   Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and scope review meetings as needed.
-   Support project turnover by providing estimate breakdowns, budget information, and scope clarifications to operations.
-   Maintain estimating databases, historical pricing, bid records, and vendor relationships.
-   Stay current with material costs, labor rates, market conditions, and industry trends.
-   Manage multiple bids simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.

## Requirements

-   **5+ years of commercial electrical estimating experience.**
-   Experience estimating **commercial and industrial electrical construction projects**.
-   Experience with healthcare, education, institutional, municipal, or other complex electrical projects is preferred.
-   Strong knowledge of commercial electrical systems, **NEC requirements**, construction methods, drawings, and specifications.
-   Proven experience performing detailed quantity takeoffs and preparing complete bid proposals.
-   Proficiency with electrical estimating software such as **Accubid, ConEst, McCormick**, or similar platforms.
-   Advanced proficiency with **Microsoft Excel** and Microsoft Office.
-   Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
-   Ability to manage multiple bids in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
-   Strong attention to detail and ability to identify scope and pricing risks.
-   **Residential-only estimating experience will not be considered.**
