Alta Ares is a deeptech startup founded in 2024, building real-time AI for defense operations (ISR, C-UAS). Our primary clients are NATO-aligned militaries, with regular deployments during live exercises. Raised €2M pre-seed in May 2025. Products include:

-   Real-time AI ISR module deployable on drones and tactical platforms
-   Full-stack Counter-UAS (C-UAS) solution enabling autonomous drone takeover under GNSS-denied environments
-   MLOps platform for training & deploying military-grade AI models
-   Radar Intelligence platform for fusing and analyzing track data

### **Position Details**

-   **Location:** Paris, France (hybrid possible)
-   **Reports to:** Head of Product
-   **Position Objective:** Build and scale user-facing applications across Alta Ares’ platforms, with a strong focus on front-end excellence and the ability to contribute across the stack when needed
-   **Tech stack:** ReactJS, NodeJS, Kotlin, Python (web servers), Figma
-   **Contract:** Full-time, permanent position (CDI)

### **Role & Mission**

As a **Front-End Engineer**, you will own the development of high-quality interfaces across our software platforms (cloud, on-premise, and edge deployments) with a strong product-vision.

While your core strength is front-end engineering and design systems, you are comfortable contributing beyond the UI layer working with APIs, backend services, and system integrations when required. We are a small and agile company, requiring flexibility.

This role is ideal for engineers coming from **SaaS or scale-up environments** who combine **frontend craftsmanship with product ownership and versatility**.

### **Your Responsibilities**

### **Frontend & Design Systems**

-   Consolidate existing software products and lead cross-products code refactors when needed
-   Build scalable, maintainable web applications using modern frameworks
-   Develop and maintain a coherent design system and reusable component library, in collaboration with our UI/UX designer
-   Ensure high standards of UX, consistency, and visual quality across products

### **System Integration & Environments**

-   Build applications that run across cloud, on-premise, and edge environments
-   Handle diverse data patterns (real-time, batch, intermittent connectivity)
-   Ensure resilience and usability in constrained or operational contexts

### **Performance & Reliability**

-   Optimize frontend performance and application responsiveness
-   Ensure reliability in mission-critical environments
-   Debug production issues across the stack when necessary

### **Full-Stack Contribution**

-   Integrate with backend APIs and data services
-   Contribute to backend or middleware when needed (API design, data handling, debugging)
-   Work across the stack to unblock progress in a small, fast-moving team

### **Testing & Quality**

-   Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests
-   Maintain high standards of code quality and documentation
-   Participate in code reviews and continuous improvement

## Requirements

### **Candidate Profile**

-   3–5 years of experience in software engineering, with strong frontend specialization
-   Proven experience in SaaS or scale-up environments
-   Strong expertise in modern frontend frameworks (React preferred)
-   Solid understanding of design systems and UI architecture
-   Comfortable working across the stack (APIs, backend basics, system integration)
-   Product-oriented mindset with a bias for action

### **Nice to Have**

-   Experience with data-heavy or complex interfaces
-   Familiarity with applications deployed outside standard cloud environments (on-prem, edge)
-   Experience with TypeScript across the stack
-   Exposure to DevOps or deployment pipelines
-   Interest in deeptech, defense, or high-reliability systems
