## Description

Primary Objective : Teach subjects/topics assigned & ensure cadets understand fully the subjects/topics related to the profession. Candidate will be engaged in following courses – DNS, BST, STSDSD & OCTCO. In addition the position requires carrying out evaluation duties and creating University Examination Question papers from time to time. Another important objective is to engage cadets in writing papers and / or developing projects as & when required by HOD / Principal.

**ROLES ACCOUNTABILITIES:**

1\. To conduct lectures for trainee deck cadets for nautical subjects enrolled in DNS course + lectures in STCW courses such as OCTCO, BST & STSDSD + Record keeping as may be necessary wrt the subjects taught & other responsibilities 2. Preparation for lectures, updating/upgrading of training material 3. Giving guidance to DNS cadets for preparing papers & also during various projects presentations related to their professional subjects. 4. Various exam related activities. a) Setting of question papers, preparing answer keys for both Internal & IMU Final Examinations. Checking /Correcting Answer sheets 5. Support (HOD) and report method/s for further improvement in enhancing teaching methodology. 6.Take the participants feedback prior to completion of the course/s, and accept the criticism positively to improve upon the contents and delivery of the courses. 7. Functional and job responsibilities- Action on management review outputs and Project planning with execution along with other work as assigned by the Principal / HOD.

## Requirements

**KEY SKILLS AND CAPABILITIES:**

Technical skills • Seafarer with Class 1 COC 2. TOTA or VICT 3. AECS

Professional skills • Marine subjects, Human Behavior and Performance

**PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:**

• Experience as Master or C/E OR 4 year of experience in field of Maritime Training or Safety & Quality.
