## Description

Looking for a team where AI supports the routine work, but your judgment on what's correct and what's fast still carries the weight? Do you want real influence over how a platform evolves, not just tickets handed down from someone else's roadmap? Want to help build a tool that will actually accelerate a business? If this sounds like you, keep reading because Apex is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Developer to join our growing team.

### Who are we?

Apex Wheels creates Real Performance wheels for drivers everywhere. That means designing and manufacturing wheels that don’t just look the part, but truly improve performance in a measurable way. Born on the track and raised in California, Apex was founded in 2007 as a passion project by diehard motorsport enthusiasts and has produced function-first, race-proven wheels ever since. Now boasting a team of 40+ staff members, all Apex products are designed by an in-house team of engineers who are just as passionate about motorsports as you.

### Objective

The Senior Full-Stack Developer builds and evolves Apex Wheels' internal operations platform, ensuring the data flowing from our NetSuite ERP stays fast, accurate, and trustworthy for the teams who run on it every day. This role focuses on shipping features across inventory and purchasing and strengthening the systems beneath them.

### How to apply

In the space provided for your cover letter, tell us about your connection to automotive or motorsports culture. If you’re not an enthusiast, tell us what you are passionate about outside of your work.

### Job Summary

We're looking for a senior full-stack developer to help build and evolve our purpose-built internal operations platform. Today it powers inventory and purchasing, working from live data synced out of NetSuite, our ERP - but that's just the starting point. As we move through a broader digital transformation, this platform will extend across the organization, becoming the place where more and more of the business runs day to day. We have even bigger ideas for this tool in the future.

Our CIO and CEO are bringing this internal platform to life, and it’s time to add support to supercharge our development. You'll be joining an established codebase, not starting from a blank page, with the chance to help shape a system that's steadily growing in scope and ambition.

We envision this role reporting to a Technical Lead in the future. This is a senior individual-contributor role. Most of your time goes into writing and reviewing code - reading existing implementations closely before changing them, refactoring what holds the platform back, and helping set the patterns the rest of the work follows. You'll make meaningful technical decisions and contributions and have real influence over how the platform evolves, working alongside the rest of the implementation team and stakeholders within the company. Close collaboration with the people across the business who rely on these tools is a core part of the role - and with it comes the opportunity to help shape the outcomes you're working toward.

We use AI tools to enhance how we build - accelerating the routine work and freeing us to focus on the hard problems. But we stay fully responsible for the code we ship: AI is a multiplier, not a substitute for judgment. This is a business that runs on accurate data and sound operational decisions, so we hold a high bar for reliability and correctness in everything that reaches production.

There's real satisfaction in this work. You'll be building the tools a genuinely passionate team relies on every day - people who care deeply about their products and how they perform.

### Responsibilities

- Build and ship features across the platform - inventory and SKU workspaces, purchasing and planning workflows, dashboards and data-heavy tables, and beyond - in Next.js and React with TypeScript.
- Work in the NetSuite sync layer - writing and maintaining the SuiteQL queries and sync pipelines that bring inventory, sales, and stock data into PostgreSQL, so what's in the ERP reliably reaches the platform in the right shape.
- Model and evolve the database schema in Drizzle - writing and reviewing migrations, and keeping queries correct and performant as the data grows.
- Debug the ERP-to-platform path end to end when it misbehaves - a missing field, stale or duplicated data, a slow query or sync - implementing the fix rather than routing around it.
- Keep heavy pages and queries fast - instrumenting hot paths, tuning queries and indexes, and being deliberate about how much data reaches the client.
- Build background and queue work reliably (BullMQ / Redis) - idempotent jobs that don't duplicate work or leave data half-synced.
- Keep the codebase healthy - a clean, reusable component architecture (Tailwind + shadcn/ui), permission-aware server actions, test coverage as you go, and a real part in code review.
- Contribute to technical decisions and to the direction of the platform.
- Other duties as assigned.

## Requirements

- 5+ years of professional full-stack development, shipping and maintaining production web applications end to end.
- Deep, hands-on experience with React and Next.js or equivalent in large production applications.
- Fluency in TypeScript, writing clean, type-safe code end to end.
- Solid command of relational databases with PostgreSQL - writing and reasoning about SQL directly (joins, indexes, query performance), not ORM-only.
- Production experience with a type-safe ORM and migration workflow - Drizzle specifically, or clearly transferable experience (e.g. Prisma) - including schema design, migrations, and transactions.
- Confidence integrating with third-party and backend APIs - shaping external responses into typed, application-ready data, and handling pagination, retries, rate limits, and failures.
- Security-conscious by default - SQL injection and parameterization, input validation, and enforcing authentication and permissions on every server-side mutation.
- Experience writing and maintaining tests and extending an existing suite.
- Comfort owning an inherited, partly-documented codebase - building a mental model from code and docs before changing it; pragmatic about existing patterns and tech debt.
- Solid command of Tailwind CSS and a component library (shadcn/ui or comparable).
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English to C2/C1 proficiency.

### Nice to have

- Experience integrating with an ERP or another large third-party system - NetSuite / SuiteQL especially.
- Background-job / queue experience (BullMQ, Redis, or similar) with a feel for idempotency.
- Schema-driven form and validation patterns (Zod + React Hook Form or equivalent).
- RBAC / permission-model experience (resource + action authorization).
- Experience in inventory, purchasing, supply-chain, or ERP-adjacent domains.
- Experience with error monitoring and performance tooling (e.g. Sentry).

## Benefits

- Long-term contract. Annualized compensation ranges from $5,800 - $6,600 monthly USD depending on experience.
- Motorsports lifestyle benefits to get you involved in the community as deeply as you’d like. Think reimbursements for event spectator tickets, karting and karting school, sim racing gear, track day insurance, SCCA compliant gear, and premium events like DirtFish and SkipBarber. Plus, huge employee discounts on our products and free merch!
- A modern professional work environment supported through remote work, almost anywhere in the contiguous U.S. and Europe, and casual in-office dress (t-shirts and jeans are normal for us). Our in-person company events often include sim-racing, karting, spectator events, and visits to some of our favorite places in Northern California.

### About the Environment

This job can work remotely from Poland or Croatia - we’ll consider other regional countries for the right candidate. Your core team works a combination of Central European and Pacific hours, so expect to work a schedule that best supports them.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work. Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period. Light lifting may be required.
