AppGate is looking for a talented Software Engineer to join our team in Gothenburg, Sweden. We work creatively in a supportive yet challenging environment. Responsibilities

-   Develop and maintain high-quality frontend components and user interfaces across our products.
-   Contribute to and evolve our component library.
-   Drive accessibility best practices and ensure compliance with accessibility standards.
-   Collaborate closely with designers to translate designs into polished, responsive, and user-friendly experiences.
-   Improve frontend consistency, usability, and maintainability across applications.
-   Participate in agile development processes and contribute to team discussions, planning, and reviews.
-   Support and mentor other frontend developers on UI development best practices.

## Requirements

Must-Have

-   Strong experience with React and TypeScript.
-   Deep understanding of HTML, CSS, and modern frontend styling approaches.
-   Proven experience building and maintaining component libraries or design systems.
-   Strong knowledge of web accessibility (WCAG, semantic HTML, keyboard navigation, screen readers, etc.).
-   Experience with Storybook or similar component documentation tools.
-   Ability to collaborate effectively with designers and translate Figma designs into production-ready interfaces.
-   Proficient in English, both written and spoken.

Nice to Have

-   Experience with Figma and design handoff workflows.
-   Experience defining and maintaining frontend standards and best practices.
-   Familiarity with automated accessibility testing tools.
-   Experience using GitHub and participating in code reviews.
-   Previous mentoring or coaching experience.
-   Familiarity with agentic AI development

Bonus Skills

-   Familiarity with Scrum and agile methodologies.
-   Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence).
-   Experience with frontend performance optimization.
