### Packhouse Assistant Manager

**Reporting to:** Packhouse Manager

Our client in the agricultural sector is looking to appoint a motivated **Packhouse Assistant Manager** to support the day-to-day management of packhouse operations. This opportunity is ideal for an organised and proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced production environment and is eager to grow within the fresh produce industry.

### Key Responsibilities

-   Assist with the **coordination and supervision of daily packhouse activities**, including managing staff and workflow
-   Maintain strong operational oversight to ensure **consistent product quality and accurate packhouse processes and documentation**
-   Monitor and manage **packaging material stock levels**, ensuring timely replenishment
-   Support the development and implementation of **best practice operational procedures**
-   Promote and maintain high standards of **health and safety within the packhouse**
-   Ensure adherence to **food safety regulations and quality assurance standards**
-   Ensure all products meet **required specifications for both local and export markets**

This position would suit a **detail-oriented and observant individual** who is well organised and able to perform effectively in a demanding production environment.

## Requirements

### Minimum Requirements

-   Relevant tertiary qualification
-   Previous supervisory or management experience will be advantageous
-   Strong communication and interpersonal skills
-   Good numerical ability and planning skills
-   Self-motivated, disciplined and able to work effectively within a team
-   High levels of integrity and reliability
-   Ability to work independently while meeting operational targets and deadlines
-   Willingness to work overtime and weekends when required
-   Exposure to food safety or quality systems such as **HACCP, BRC or similar** would be beneficial
-   Experience in a **soft fruit or labour-intensive packhouse environment** will be advantageous
-   Own reliable transport is required
-   Ability to perform effectively in a high-pressure environment
