## Description

The Instrumentation Engineer supports the maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and documentation of subsea and topside instrumentation electronic systems. This includes subsea positioning sensors (sonar, altimeters, depth sensors, gyro compasses), underwater cameras and lighting systems, optical multiplexers, and cable‑tracking equipment.

The role assists senior engineers and offshore personnel in both onshore maintenance activities and offshore project execution, ensuring instrumentation equipment is reliable, calibrated, properly stored, and operationally ready. The position combines hands‑on technical work with equipment tracking, documentation, and coordination with multiple engineering and operational teams.

**Responsibilities**

-   Support the maintenance, calibration, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of subsea and topside instrumentation systems, including sensors, cameras, lighting systems, optical equipment, and cable-tracking systems.
-   Assist with the preparation, testing, commissioning, mobilization, and demobilization of instrumentation equipment for offshore operations, ensuring equipment is operationally ready and handled in accordance with established procedures and safety standards.
-   Support firmware updates, software configuration, system modifications, and basic checks of telemetry, sensor communications, and data signal integrity, under the guidance of senior engineers and OEM representatives.
-   Assist with maintenance planning, equipment tracking, inventory management, spare parts identification, and procurement activities through the company’s ERP system.
-   Prepare and maintain accurate maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting records, including technical documentation such as wiring, network, and interface diagrams, manuals, and configuration files. Ensure documentation is properly maintained in internal systems and meets relevant compliance and certification requirements.
-   Collaborate with senior engineers, technicians, offshore personnel, and cross-functional teams to support maintenance activities, project execution, and equipment commissioning.
-   Participate in troubleshooting, reliability assessments, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives, escalating complex technical issues to senior engineers as required.

## Requirements

-   Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
-   1–3 years of experience in electronics maintenance, ideally in subsea, marine, industrial, or navigation systems.
-   Solid understanding of basic electronics, circuit theory, sensors, signal levels, and communication protocols. Knowledge of network concepts, fiber-optic equipment, or telemetry is a plus.
-   Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.
-   Good troubleshooting skills, with a hands-on approach and willingness to develop expertise in subsea electronic systems.
-   Strong safety awareness and ability to follow offshore operational procedures.
-   Good command of written and spoken English.
-   Familiarity with ERP/PMS systems, such as SAP, is an advantage.
-   Willingness and ability to travel offshore, approximately 60 days per year, as required.
