We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced **Consultant Pediatric Ophthalmologist** to join a leading healthcare facility in **Abu Dhabi, UAE**.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in **pediatric eye disorders, childhood vision development, strabismus management, and pediatric ophthalmic procedures**. ### Key Responsibilities

-   Diagnose and manage **pediatric eye conditions** in infants, children, and adolescents.
-   Evaluate and treat **strabismus, amblyopia, congenital cataracts, refractive errors, and other childhood visual disorders**.
-   Conduct comprehensive pediatric eye examinations and visual development assessments.
-   Perform **strabismus surgery and other pediatric ophthalmic procedures**, within authorized clinical privileges.
-   Diagnose and manage **congenital and hereditary eye diseases**, including pediatric glaucoma and retinal abnormalities.
-   Develop individualized treatment plans for children with complex ophthalmic conditions.
-   Interpret diagnostic investigations, including **optical coherence tomography (OCT), fundus imaging, ocular ultrasound, and visual field assessments**, where age-appropriate.
-   Provide pre-operative assessments, surgical planning, and post-operative follow-up.
-   Collaborate with **pediatricians, neurologists, orthoptists, optometrists, and other ophthalmology specialists**.
-   Educate parents and caregivers regarding treatment options, visual development, and long-term eye care.
-   Ensure compliance with **DOH regulations, pediatric ophthalmology protocols, infection control, and patient safety standards**.

## Requirements

### **Qualifications**

-   MBBS/MD or equivalent recognized medical degree.
-   Recognized postgraduate qualification in **Ophthalmology**.
-   Board certification or equivalent recognized consultant-level qualification.
-   **Fellowship or advanced subspecialty training in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus** is highly desirable.
-   **American Board, UK CCT, Canadian, Australian, European, or other internationally recognized qualifications** are preferred.
-   Minimum **5–10 years of relevant post-specialization experience** preferred, including substantial pediatric ophthalmology experience.
-   Strong expertise in **pediatric eye disorders, strabismus, amblyopia, and childhood vision management**.
-   Eligible for the appropriate **DOH Consultant Ophthalmology classification/license** in Abu Dhabi, with relevant pediatric ophthalmology clinical privileges, subject to applicable UAE PQR requirements.
