We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced **Consultant General Surgeon** to join a leading healthcare facility in **Abu Dhabi, UAE**.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in **general surgery, laparoscopic procedures, abdominal surgery, and emergency surgical management**. ### Key Responsibilities

-   Diagnose and manage **general surgical conditions**, including gastrointestinal, abdominal, and soft tissue disorders.
-   Perform **laparoscopic and open surgical procedures**, including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and hernia repair, within authorized clinical privileges.
-   Evaluate and manage **acute abdominal emergencies, intestinal obstruction, appendicitis, and other surgical conditions**.
-   Conduct comprehensive pre-operative assessments and develop individualized surgical treatment plans.
-   Perform minimally invasive surgical procedures using advanced laparoscopic techniques, where appropriately trained.
-   Provide post-operative care, monitor recovery, and manage surgical complications.
-   Interpret diagnostic investigations, including **ultrasound, CT scans, MRI, and laboratory tests**.
-   Collaborate with **anesthesiologists, gastroenterologists, radiologists, intensivists, and other specialists**.
-   Educate patients regarding surgical procedures, treatment options, risks, and recovery.
-   Supervise and mentor junior surgeons, residents, and surgical team members.
-   Ensure compliance with **DOH regulations, surgical safety protocols, infection control, and patient safety standards**.

## Requirements

### **Qualifications**

-   MBBS/MD or equivalent recognized medical degree.
-   Recognized postgraduate qualification in **General Surgery**.
-   Board certification or equivalent recognized consultant-level qualification.
-   **American Board, UK CCT, Canadian, Australian, European, or other internationally recognized qualifications** are highly desirable.
-   Minimum **5–10 years of relevant post-specialization experience** preferred.
-   Strong expertise in **general surgery, laparoscopic procedures, abdominal surgery, and emergency surgical management**.
-   Eligible for **DOH Consultant General Surgery classification/license** in Abu Dhabi, subject to applicable UAE PQR requirements.
