We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced **Consultant Ophthalmologist** to join a leading healthcare facility in **Abu Dhabi, UAE**.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in **diagnosing and managing eye diseases, advanced ophthalmic procedures, and comprehensive vision care**. ### Key Responsibilities

-   Diagnose and manage **cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and other ophthalmic conditions**.
-   Conduct comprehensive eye examinations, visual assessments, and diagnostic evaluations.
-   Perform **cataract surgery and other ophthalmic procedures**, within authorized clinical privileges.
-   Evaluate and manage **refractive errors, corneal diseases, ocular infections, and inflammatory eye disorders**.
-   Perform and interpret diagnostic investigations, including **OCT, fundus photography, visual field testing, and ocular ultrasound**.
-   Develop individualized medical and surgical treatment plans based on clinical findings.
-   Diagnose and manage **ophthalmic emergencies, ocular trauma, and sudden visual disturbances**.
-   Provide comprehensive pre-operative assessments, surgical management, and post-operative follow-up.
-   Collaborate with **optometrists, ophthalmic technicians, neurologists, endocrinologists, and other specialists**.
-   Educate patients regarding eye health, treatment options, and preventive vision care.
-   Ensure compliance with **DOH regulations, ophthalmology protocols, infection control, and patient safety standards**.

## Requirements

-   MBBS/MD or equivalent recognized medical degree.
-   Recognized postgraduate qualification in **Ophthalmology**.
-   Board certification or equivalent recognized consultant-level qualification.
-   **American Board, UK CCT, Canadian, Australian, European, or other internationally recognized qualifications** are highly desirable.
-   Minimum **5–10 years of relevant post-specialization experience** preferred.
-   Strong expertise in **ophthalmic diagnostics, cataract management, and medical or surgical eye care**.
-   Eligible for **DOH Consultant Ophthalmology classification/license** in Abu Dhabi, with appropriate clinical privileges, subject to applicable UAE PQR requirements.
