**Workplace:** on_site

**Department:** Customer & Community

## Description

We're looking for 12 customer-focused people to join our team as Customer Service Ambassadors (CSA) on a three-month fixed-term basis, commencing mid-August 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the biggest transport project in Aotearoa as we prepare for the opening of the City Rail Link (CRL) in Tāmaki Makaurau. As a CSA, you'll play a key role in supporting customers across the Auckland rail network, helping them navigate changes, providing information and assistance, and delivering a positive customer experience as we begin the new CRL journey.

Whether you're assisting customers at stations, supporting major events and network changes, or helping people feel confident using public transport, you'll be at the frontline of Auckland's rail transformation.

**The Role**

As a Customer Service Ambassador, you will:

- Provide front-line customer support at stations and rail replacement bus stops.
- Assist customers with wayfinding, journey planning and network information.
- Help customers navigate changes associated with the introduction of the City Rail Link.
- Deliver clear, timely customer information during normal operations, special events, service disruptions and blocks of line (BOL).
- Support accessibility and mobility-impaired customers where required.
- Help manage customer flow during busy periods and major events.
- Conduct station safety and cleanliness checks and report issues promptly.
- Assist with lost property, station operations and customer enquiries.
- Maintain a professional and welcoming presence across the network while representing Auckland One Rail.

**About the Opportunity**

These positions are part of a dedicated team supporting the transition toward the opening of Auckland's City Rail Link.

Your three-month fixed-term contract will run from mid-August to mid-November 2026, providing additional customer support during this important phase of operational readiness and customer engagement.

You'll work across key stations including Waitematā/Britomart, Te Waihorotiu and Karanga-a-Hape. This role would suit anyone living in or near the city centre, close to these central stations.

**Hours**

Shifts are four hours long, Monday to Friday, helping to cover either the morning or afternoon peak period each day.

**Training**

Full training will be provided, including customer service training, first aid training, fire warden training and CRL relevant training.

**About You**

We're looking for people who:

- Have a genuine passion for helping others and creating positive customer experiences.
- Are confident approaching customers proactively.
- Remain calm, professional and solutions-focused in challenging situations.
- Communicate clearly and confidently.
- Are adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Work well independently and as part of a team.
- Are comfortable using smartphones, tablets, handheld radios and other technology.
- Are physically fit and able to spend most of their shift on their feet, including walking up multiple flights of stairs when required.

**Why Join Us?**

This is your chance to play a part in one of Auckland's most significant transport projects and help shape customers' first experiences as we prepare for the opening of the City Rail Link.

You'll join a supportive team, gain valuable public transport experience, and contribute to delivering a safe, welcoming and informed customer experience during a landmark period for Auckland's rail network.

Every shift is different, every customer interaction matters, and every day you'll be helping Auckland move forward.

**Recruitment Process**

Candidates may be required to complete a video interview, phone interview and face to face interview in order to be considered for this role. Candidates invited to interview will need to be able to comfortably walk up six flights of stairs in order to meet the fitness criteria for the role.

If you have applied for this or a similar role at AOR and were unsuccessful following an interview within the last 12 months, your application may not be considered at this time.

We receive 100s of applications for these positions and are unable to respond to every applicant individually at each stage of the recruitment process.

**Pre-Employment Checks**

Successful candidates will be required to complete satisfactory pre-employment checks which include ACC claim history, criminal conviction history, reference checks and a drug and alcohol test.

## Requirements
