# Shuttering Carpenter

## Description

**Key Responsibilities:**

-   Read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
-   Set out and construct formwork for concrete structures according to project requirements.
-   Measure, cut, assemble, and install timber, plywood, steel, or other formwork materials.
-   Construct formwork for foundations, columns, beams, walls, slabs, stairs, and other concrete structures.
-   Ensure formwork is correctly aligned, level, plumb, and securely supported.
-   Install and remove formwork, supports, braces, ties, and other temporary structures.
-   Check dimensions and levels before concrete is poured.
-   Make adjustments and repairs to formwork as required.
-   Safely dismantle and remove shuttering after concrete has sufficiently cured.
-   Use hand tools, power tools, and carpentry equipment safely.
-   Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in good condition.
-   Follow construction drawings, site procedures, and health and safety requirements.
-   Coordinate with steel fixers, concrete workers, and other construction trades.

## Requirements

**Requirements:**

-   Previous experience as a shuttering carpenter, formwork carpenter, or carpenter.
-   Good knowledge of formwork and concrete construction.
-   Ability to read and understand construction drawings.
-   Strong measuring, cutting, and carpentry skills.
-   Ability to use hand and power tools.
-   Good understanding of levels, measurements, and alignment.
-   Physically fit and comfortable working on construction sites and at heights.
-   Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
-   Relevant carpentry or construction qualification is an advantage.
-   Safety certification or construction site experience is an advantage.
