We are currently seeking a Field Service Engineer, located anywhere in the United States, for our Technical Services Department which encompasses Boiler and HRSG Operation and Performance. This position will travel to power generating utility sites and perform boiler and HRSG unit inspections, collect operational and performance data, and solve mechanical and performance problems.  Through direct site visits you will also promote company products/services and assist with major projects.

### Essential Responsibilities

As a Field Service Engineer, you will have proficient knowledge in:

Boiler System Operation, Maintenance & Performance:

-   Utility and Industrial Boiler arrangements including boiler setting, economizer, generating bank, primary SH/RH, final SH/RH and attemperator systems.
-   Visual inspection of the boiler systems noted above.
-   Boiler performance testing and tuning for emissions compliance, collection and evaluation of boiler performance data including NOx, CO and O2.
-   Instrumentation and boiler controls.

HRSG system operation, performance:

-   HRSG inspection knowledge including exterior, gas side, and waterside.
-   Working knowledge of UT (Ultrasonic Thickness) Testing of pressure and non-pressure part components.
-   High Energy Piping (HEP) systems and piping hangers & supports.

The ideal candidate will also have knowledge of:

Pulverizer system operation, inspection, maintenance & performance:

-   Coal fineness/distribution testing for performance & balance.
-   Determine A/C ratio by heat balance.
-   Prepare characterization curves for the pulverizer.
-   Burner testing & tuning.

## Requirements

-   Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline or related field. An associate degree with 5 years relevant experience or 7 years of relevant experience may be considered as a substitute for the BS requirement.

-   Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles such as heat transfer rates, combustion efficiency, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.
-   Ability to read blueprints.
-   Proficient with documentation and report writing.
-   Extensive travel required, more than 60%.
-   Physical dexterity including crawling extended distances, bending, average lifting (< 50 lbs), and the ability to enter boiler and auxiliary equipment through existing access doors and openings.
-   Able to work in confined spaces and at heights.

Final offers may vary based on multiple factors including education, depth and relevance of work experience, relevant licenses and certifications, and may vary from the amounts listed in the job posting.

The salary range for this job is $77,000.00 - $130,000.00
