**Engineering Scheduler**

**Working Pattern: 40 hours per week, Mon-Fri 5am-2pm with flexibility**

**Salary: £47,613 per annum**

The Engineering Scheduler is responsible for ensuring the continuity of planned and corrective work is distributed to the maintenance teams at Biffa BDR. Working closely with the Senior Team Leader, Engineering Planner and Engineering Manager (with links into operational supervisors), they will support in ensuring continuity in works is maintained between engineering shifts. Having ‘hands on’ / practical experience will help with site maintenance works and this role.

**Key responsibilities:**

• Help maintain the plant so it stays within the prescribed Health, Safety and environmental standards (inc LOLER, PUWER, COSHH).

• Ensure that all statutory and regulatory obligations are met and the annual maintenance calendar tracks inspection regimes.

• Develop and manage routine maintenance programs, carry out review of existing inspections for value adding.

• Report and communicate incidents as per the incident reporting systems.

• Attend safety and maintenance meetings as required, help roll out of site TBT and safety briefs and ensure that risk assessments and method statements are produced and in place for each activity .

• Work with the compliance team to keep up to date with any legislative changes to safety and environmental guidance and all relevant Company policies.

• Ensure site stores are maintained, controlled and audited with a vision to improve standards.

• The preparation of parts and equipment for on-site works.

• Assist the Engineering Maintenance Manager and the team in the review, possible improvement and development PPMs and work activities.

• Frontline control of the site CMMS system in respect to PPM Scheduling

• Engage with equipment suppliers and support ‘desks’ for maintenance issues, planned works via OEM contractors and improvements

• Ensure works are carried out through SOPs, RAs and utilising our CMMS system (Shire)

• Support in the accountability of ensuring maintenance KPI targets are achieved.

• integral involvement in continuous improvement initiatives for the engineering department .

• Project planning and delivery.

• Any other reasonable tasks and duties as required by site management.

**Experience, Education & Qualifications:**

**Essential**

• Be part of Effective diagnosis of plant downtime events, ensuring repairs are completed safely, swiftly, completely, and economically.

• Deputise for department peers as required.

• An ability to manage contract labour as required (there is ability for overtime etc for some out of normal working hours that might be required)

• Qualified HNC/HND – with experience as a multi skilled/ mechanical engineer

• IOSH managing safely

• Competence with CMMS system’s

**Preferable**

• Possible electrical experience (not essential)

• Management of multi-disciplined teams

• Process/Waste industry experience

• Continuous improvement – in house or external
