## Description

The Development and Grants Associate supports the comprehensive efforts of Bright Harbor Healthcare with the primary responsibility for grant research, proposal development and grant-related writing. Working closely with the Development Team, this position also contributes to fund raising, donor and community engagement, special events, social media and agency communications, relationship development, and day-to-day operations of the Development Department.

Responsibilities:

-   Research local, county, state, federal, foundation, corporate and other funding opportunities that align with BHH programs, strategic priorities and emerging community need.
-   Draft, edit and prepare high-quality grant proposals, applications letters of intent, concept papers, funding requests and supporting narratives.
-   Review notices of funding opportunities, requests for proposals and other solicitations and identify eligibility requirements, submission requirements, evaluation criteria, deadline and potential concerns
-   Coordinate application materials and assist with timely electronic and portal submissions
-   Assist with grant reporting, continuation applications, renewals, modifications and other post-award development activities as assigned
-   Assist with the planning and implementation of agency fundraising strategies, campaigns and appeals
-   Assist with planning, coordination and execution of fundraising events, community events, donor activities, program launches and other Development led initiatives
-   Attend community meetings networking meetings, networking events, coalition meetings, funder events and other external activities as assigned
-   Assist in the development and management of social media content that increases awareness of BHH programs, community impact, events, partnerships and development activities. Create, schedule and/or coordinate engaging social media posts and campaigns in collaboration with appropriate agency staff
-   Maintain organized electronic records, calendars, grant files, prospect information and Development Department tracking systems. Maintain an organized grant opportunity and deadline tracking system
-   Assist with data entry, mailing lists, contact records, event registrations and other routine Development functions

## Requirements

-   Bachelor's Degree in Communications, English, Non-Profit Management, Public Relations, Marketing, Social Sciences, Business or related field. Equivalent relevant professional experience may be considered.
-   Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in grant writing, non-profit development, fundraising, communications or a related field preferred
-   Strong written, verbal, written, interpersonal and organization skills. Exceptional attention to detail and ability to synthesize complex programmatic and financial information into clear, compelling language
-   Demonstrated professional writing ability.
-   Proficiency with Microsoft Word and comfort learning grant ports, databases social media platforms, design tools and other technology
-   Ability to work independently while functional collaboratively as part of a fast-paced, highly responsive team. Ability to work with executive leadership, program staff, finance, community partners, funders and other stakeholders
-   Experience researching and interpreting government, foundation and/or corporate funding opportunities
-   Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
-   Valid Driver's License and ability to travel locally as required
