### About the role

_Journal of Applied Ecology_ is renowned for publishing high-quality primary research that shapes the field. Alongside this, our [Reviews](https://besjournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/toc/10.1111/\(ISSN\)1365-2664.reviews) , [Perspectives](https://besjournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/toc/10.1111/\(ISSN\)1365-2664.perspectives) , [Practitioner's Perspectives](https://besjournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/hub/journal/13652664/features/practitioner-perspectives) and [Policy Directions](https://besjournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/hub/journal/13652664/features/policy-directions) play a vital role in setting the agenda—bringing new ideas to the fore and connecting ecological science with practice and policy. We are seeking a Commissioning Editor to champion and develop these influential article types, working closely with the journal’s leadership to identify potential authors, promote the journal and facilitate their publication.
