## Description

The Utility Operator operates and maintains engine room and utility systems to ensure operational continuity and energy efficiency. The role performs routine equipment inspections, logbook recordkeeping, and basic maintenance tasks under supervisor guidance. Additionally, it enforces strict compliance with company HSE policies, Permit-to-Work procedures, and safety standards.

**Responsibilities**

• Operate and monitor utility systems, including power generation (turbines/generators), compressed air systems, potable and industrial water systems, boilers and steam systems, HVAC systems, and effluent and sewage treatment.  
• Perform routine inspections, basic maintenance, and operational parameter readings on utility systems and machinery, checking for leaks, abnormal noise, vibration, and general equipment condition.  
• Actively participate in Engine Room maintenance tasks, including disassembly, inspection, cleaning, and reassembly of equipment (pumps, valves, filters, heat exchangers), routine lubrication, tightening, alignment checks, and minor repairs on rotating machinery.  
• Maintain the Engine Room Logbook updated and accurate, recording operational parameters, deviations, and events in the management system.  
• Monitor oil and fuel consumption, targeting efficiency and maximum equipment availability. Execute operational adjustments per supervisor procedures and recommendations.  
• Perform system maneuvers and valve operations for operational and maintenance purposes. Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities as applicable.  
• Identify anomalies, unsafe or potentially critical conditions, promptly communicating them to leadership and QHSE. Ensure compliance with HSE standards and procedures.  
• Assist in commissioning and testing of utility equipment. Interact with Operations, Maintenance, and Safety teams to resolve operational issues.  
• Maintain high housekeeping standards in the engine room and utility areas. Ensure adherence to safe operational practices and protection of equipment integrity.  
• Strictly comply with HSE procedures, including PPE, EPC, PTW (Permit to Work), SIMOPS, and Job Safety Analysis (JSA). Ensure safe equipment preparation before maintenance activities, including isolation, drainage, depressurization, ventilation, and line cleaning.  
• Assist in reinstallation and commissioning of systems after maintenance completion. Participate in training, emergency drills, and maintain valid certifications.  
• Ensure personal safety and the safety of fellow workers, operating under the Zero Incidents standard.

## Requirements

**Education  
**

•Technical qualification.  

**Experience**

• Knowledge of mechanical, electromechanical, automation, and chemical processes and systems.

• Previous experience in utility operations, preferably in offshore or heavy industrial environments.

• Experience with engines, pumps, compressors, boilers, and water/energy systems.

• Knowledge of power generation and distribution systems, boilers and water treatment, rotating equipment, P&IDs, and safety procedures.
