**Financial Controller**

**The Role:** The Financial Controller oversees financial reporting, month/quarter/year-end close processes, and general ledger management for insurance operations. Responsibilities include preparing regulatory reports, maintaining internal controls, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, coordinating audits and regulatory inspections, management of Accounts staff performance, and maintaining up-to-date finance policies and procedures.

**Job Responsibilities:**

-   Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
-   Oversee general ledger integrity, including review of postings, reconciliations, and financial transactions.
-   Prepare and analyze financial statements, management accounts, Board reports, and IFRS-compliant reporting.
-   Manage regulatory and statutory reporting requirements, including filings with insurance regulators (e.g., CIMA).
-   Maintain robust internal controls, finance policies, and procedures in line with regulatory and audit standards.
-   Coordinate external and internal audits, regulatory inspections, and implementation of corrective actions.
-   Oversee treasury, cash flow management, insurance receivables, and related financial risk monitoring.
-   Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes to support strategic decision-making.
-   Supervise and develop finance team members, ensuring performance, capability building, and operational effectiveness.

## Requirements

**Qualifications & Experience**

-   Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
-   CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
-   Must have experience in insurance or reinsurance financial accounting and reporting.
-   Minimum of 2 years' of experience in a management role overseeing an Accounts department.
-   Strong working knowledge of IFRS and IAS standards.
-   Familiarity with the Cayman Islands insurance regulatory framework.
-   Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to work across multiple financial/software systems.
-   Strong analytical, business acumen, and problem-solving skills.
-   Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

## Benefits

This is a full-time position at our George Town office, and our office hours are Monday-Thursday (8:30am-5:00pm) and Friday (8:30am-4:30pm). The salary range is CI$90,000 – CI$120,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
