Behind that teacher is a coach who knew exactly what to model, what to say, and what to look for next. The Center for Student Achievement Solutions (CSAS) is hiring a full-time Lead Literacy Coach to be that coach for our coaches. **About CSAS** CSAS partners with schools and districts to put the Science of Reading into daily practice through structured literacy, MTSS, job-embedded coaching, and leadership development. We are a strengths-based team: we build on what teachers already do well and grow from there. Our work is rooted in equity, excellence, and results, so every student, especially those furthest from opportunity, becomes a proficient reader. **The Role** As Lead Literacy Coach, you will set the standard for coaching excellence across our NYC team. You will work side by side with our Literacy Coach Consultants in schools, modeling what high-impact coaching looks like, giving them actionable feedback, and building their capacity so their teachers and students grow faster. You are a mentor, a role model, and a practitioner who still loves being in classrooms. This is a full-time, 11-month position aligned to the school year, with the month of July off. **What You'll Do** - Provide job-embedded support to CSAS Literacy Coaches through onsite co-coaching, modeling, and observation with feedback - Model lessons and coaching conversations that show what excellent structured literacy instruction looks and sounds like - Mentor coaches in UFLI Foundations, Heggerty, Heggerty Bridge the Gap, and Phonics for Reading implementation - Calibrate coaching quality across the team using look-fors, walkthrough tools, and shared evidence of impact - Lead coach professional learning sessions and team meetings focused on coaching moves that move student data - Guide coaches in using Acadience, iReady, and progress-monitoring data to plan targeted Tier 1, 2, and 3 support - Partner with school leaders to align coaching priorities to school and district literacy goals - Coach teachers directly in K-5 classrooms, keeping your own practice sharp and credible **What You Bring** - Deep expertise in the Science of Reading and structured literacy - Hands-on classroom and coaching experience with UFLI Foundations, Heggerty, and Phonics for Reading - Master's degree in Literacy, Special Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field - 5+ years of K-5 classroom teaching experience within the past 10 years - 5+ years of literacy coaching or PD facilitation, including experience mentoring or leading other coaches - Fluency with diagnostic and progress-monitoring tools and data-driven instruction - Warmth, credibility, and the ability to give feedback that coaches want to act on - NYC residency and availability for onsite school visits - Fingerprint clearance and approval in the NYC PETS system (or ability to obtain) - Not currently employed by NYC Public Schools **Bonus Points** - LETRS, Orton-Gillingham, or SPIRE experience - Experience with MTSS for literacy - Grades 3-5 intervention and comprehension coaching experience **Why CSAS** - Full-time, 10-month role with July off and direct impact on teachers and students - Salary: \[$82,000 to $95,000\] - Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and retirement plan - Ongoing training and collaboration with an expert, mission-driven team - A strengths-based culture where relationships and rigor go hand in hand **Apply Today** Submit your résumé and a cover letter describing: - Your direct experience teaching and coaching UFLI, Heggerty, and Phonics for Reading - How you have built the capacity of other coaches or teachers The Center for Student Achievement Solutions is an equal opportunity employer.
