CIMMYT is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, and service-oriented professional for the position of Finance Support Service with a strong focus on Finance, Accounting, expenses analysis and cost reallocation, to work in Financial Planning Unit /Finance for Science and Innovation Chapter.

The position is based at CIMMYT’s campus in Texcoco, State of Mexico, and located 45 km northeast of Mexico City, Mexico.

### Specific duties:

-   Participate actively in the budgeting process (Administration and operational expenses, CAPEX, etc.) of research projects at the science & innovation chapter.
-   Liaise with Program Finance Manager to upload and maintain the latest budget figures and other reporting data elements in the ERP (Microsoft Dynamics “D365”) of the Science and Innovation chapter projects.
-   Execute monthly monitoring and financial analysis of research project expenses (Budget vs Actuals) to identify variations and avoid over-expenditure.
-   Prepare, analyze and report monthly and quarterly project financial information for the finance manager and internal users (deviations and preparation of quarterly forecasts).
-   Work closely with different areas through the organization to obtain accurate information for budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
-   To prepare accurate financial reports in compliance with international and other standards and agreements.
-   Contribute to further development of reporting templates and development of KPI’s.
-   Support institutional and research projects on financial analysis, information and reporting activities.
-   Compile and analyze financial and budgetary information requirements of research Projects among CIMMYT research programs.
-   Experience in Project Finance at NGO´s, non-profit or International Organizations dealing with awards from international funders in the global development or international assistance sector (e.g., USG, EU, Gates Foundation, GIZ- funding) is a preference.
-   Respond to ad hoc requests for financial information.
-   Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor.

## Requirements

-   Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
-   Minimum 5 years of working experience in Financial, Accounting, Budget, Forecast & G&A Analysis.
-   Experienced in ERP usage (financial modules), MS office, and management of large databases.
-   Experienced in project finance management (project budgeting, implementation, monitoring, financial analysis & reporting) and engaging with senior management levels.
-   Demonstrated experience in the preparation of relevant and timely financial management information.
-   Proven strong analytical skills and the ability to identify project finance opportunities.
-   Proven advanced Excel & Power BI (Business Intelligence Dashboards) skills.
-   Ability to work independently, to prioritize and to plan.
-   Proactive and flexible, able to deal with conflicting priorities and deadlines.
-   Excellent communication skills and a high level of attention to details.
-   Proficiency in English (C1) , with good written/oral communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
-   Ability to work with different nationalities, under pressure and as a member of diverse work team.
-   The candidate must exhibit sense of urgency and commitment to responsibilities and deadlines.
