**Salary:** USD 12,000–18,000

**Workplace:** remote

## Description

### About Citygreen

Citygreen PROJECTS delivers some of the most technically complex urban infrastructure and streetscape projects in the market — work that sits at the intersection of civil construction, landscape architecture, and environmental performance. We work with councils, Tier 1 and Tier 2 builders, civil contractors, and landscape contractors to shape how cities integrate trees, stormwater, and public space with built infrastructure.

### About the Role

We are hiring a Civil Estimator to conduct scoping, estimating, tendering, and commercial risk assessment of complex urban infrastructure and streetscape construction projects.

This is a fully remote, work-from-home role within our offshore team, supporting Citygreen's commercial project management and construction sector of the business. You will work closely with our Australian project managers, design team, and commercial leadership across daily collaboration hours.

You will prepare accurate, commercially sound estimates across a range of civil and landscape infrastructure works, including streetscape upgrades, stormwater systems, public domain projects, and integrated civil and landscape packages.

This is a senior role for an estimator who thinks like a constructor, project manager, and commercial risk manager — not just a take-off operator. You will directly influence project profitability, delivery success, and long-term client relationships.

### What You'll Do

**Tender & Bid Management**

- Review tender invitations, conduct go/no-go analysis, and assess contract conditions
- Manage tender timelines and submission schedules
- Coordinate subcontractor and supplier pricing
- Participate in tender interviews and clarification meetings (remotely)

**Technical Scope Review**

- Interpret civil drawings, landscape drawings, engineering details, specifications, geotechnical reports, and stormwater plans
- Identify missing details, design conflicts, and constructability risks
- Resolve scope gaps between civil and landscape packages

**Quantity Take-Offs & Pricing**

- Prepare detailed take-offs for excavation, disposal, drainage, aggregates, pavements, planting, irrigation, reinstatement, traffic management, and preliminaries
- Develop pricing across labour, plant, materials, subcontractors, and overheads
- Account for productivity factors, urban construction inefficiencies, and staged works impacts

**Construction Methodology**

- Develop project-specific methodologies based on site access, staging, machinery sizing, utility risks, and live traffic environments
- Translate how the job will actually be built into accurate pricing

**Commercial Risk Management**

- Prepare clear exclusions, assumptions, clarifications, and qualifications
- Identify risks around rock excavation, contaminated fill, service relocations, traffic control, after-hours work, access restrictions, and latent conditions

**Supplier & Subcontractor Engagement**

- Source and evaluate pricing, lead times, and delivery risk
- Compare alternative methodologies and negotiate where required

**Proposal Preparation & Handover**

- Prepare professional quotations, tender submissions, methodology statements, and commercial submissions
- Conduct structured handovers to delivery teams covering assumptions, key risks, and unresolved items

### Working Arrangement

- Reliable high-speed internet and a professional home office setup required
- Daily collaboration hours overlapping with Australian business hours (AEST/AEDT)
- Regular video meetings with onshore project, design, and commercial teams
- Independent contractor engagement (standard offshore contractor terms)
- Engagement may commence as **casual (per-hour / per-project)** and convert to **full-time equivalent**, subject to workload queue and demonstrated capacity
- First **90 days** include productivity and workload calibration

## Requirements

### Essential

- 3+ years of civil estimating experience
- Experience pricing urban infrastructure, streetscape, or public domain projects, stormwater and roading infrastructure

- Excellent written and verbal English communication
- Proven ability to work effectively in a remote, cross-border team environment
- Reliable high-speed internet and dedicated home workspace

### Software Proficiency

**Essential**

- Advanced Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, cost modelling)
- At least one professional estimating or take-off software platform (Bluebeam, CostX, Buildsoft, or equivalent)

- PDF markup and collaboration tools
- Cloud-based file and project management platforms (SharePoint, Google Drive, Dropbox)
- Familiarity with project management tools such as Asana, [Monday.com](http://Monday.com), or similar

**Bonus**

- Experience with construction-specific ERP or job costing systems
- AI-assisted estimating or productivity tools

### Highly Desirable Experience

- Streetscapes, landscape construction, or integrated civil/landscape packages
- Stormwater management, WSUD, or urban tree infrastructure
- Working with Australian, New Zealand, UK, or US-based civil or landscape contractors
- Prior offshore or remote contracting experience

### Who You Are

- **Collaborative** — you work effectively across design, delivery, suppliers, and clients in a remote setting

## Benefits

- Fully remote, work-from-home arrangement
- Full training on Citygreen's proprietary systems, construction methodologies, and QA frameworks
- Exposure to high-profile urban infrastructure and green infrastructure projects in Australia and internationally
- Collaborative team environment across design, delivery, and commercial functions
- Long-term career development within a growing specialist business
- Standard offshore contractor engagement terms
