### Overview

Commissionaires North Saskatchewan is seeking dedicated Healthcare Security Officers to join our team in La Loche, Saskatchewan. Healthcare Security Officers play a critical role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff. ### Responsibilities

**Patient Safety**

-   Provide one-to-one patient watch for high-risk individuals
-   Monitor patients and report behavioural changes to clinical staff
-   Assist with locating missing or wandering patients
-   Maintain accurate patient census information
-   Support Safe Walk and Safe Drive programs
-   Provide officer presence for special duty assignments

**Emergency Response & Crisis Intervention**

-   Respond to Code White and emergency assistance calls
-   De-escalate aggressive, violent, or emotionally distressed individuals
-   Assist with patient restraint when authorized and required
-   Provide support to police, protective services, and first responders

**Facility Security**

-   Conduct patrols of hospital grounds and facilities
-   Monitor surveillance systems and investigate suspicious activity
-   Secure entrances, offices, and restricted-access areas
-   Manage key control procedures
-   Enforce parking regulations and controls
-   Conduct heliport inspections as required

**Incident Response**

-   Respond to emergencies throughout the facility
-   Apprehend and detain individuals when authorized
-   Document and catalogue contraband and dangerous items
-   Escort individuals from hospital property when required
-   Support hospital emergency preparedness procedures

**Administrative & Operational Support**

-   Complete incident reports and daily activity logs
-   Monitor fire systems and safety equipment
-   Issue parking passes, lockers, and keys
-   Manage lost and found documentation
-   Collaborate with healthcare teams, police, EMS, and community partners
-   Assist with orientation and training of new officers

## Requirements

### Must Have

-   Valid Saskatchewan Security Guard Licence **or willingness to obtain prior to employment**
-   Ability to obtain a clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
-   Ability to successfully pass a physical abilities test
-   Strong communication and documentation skills
-   Ability to work weekends and statutory holidays
-   Comfortable working in healthcare and crisis-response environments

### Nice to Have

-   Education in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Health Sciences, or a related field
-   Previous experience in security, healthcare, or customer service
-   Interest in pursuing a career in healthcare, policing, paramedicine, or emergency services
