## Description

Founded in 2011, Cleeng is the Subscriber Retention Management® Company. Cleeng unifies the entire subscriber experience across web and mobile apps from a single platform, empowering D2C companies to simplify subscription management and maximize customer lifetime value.

Our award-winning Subscriber Retention Management (SRM®) suite delivers comprehensive solutions through an integrated approach - from flexible web payments and in-app subscriptions to sophisticated recurring billing and AI-powered customer support.

Trusted by industry leaders, including the NHL, Big Ten Network, The Weather Channel, TOD/BeIN, and NHK, Cleeng's complete suite helps businesses reduce churn and drive sustainable revenue growth across every channel.

### Your mission

Contribute to and support the quality of the mission-critical web applications our enterprise media and streaming clients use every day, supporting millions of subscribers and handling millions of dollars.

You'll join a QA function actively rebuilding itself around AI — not bolting Claude Code onto existing workflows, but rethinking how testing gets done: agentic test generation, a self-healing test pilot already in motion, and a dedicated AI squad pushing the infrastructure further. Your playbook will shape how the whole org tests.

You'll help make releases confident and integrations reliable, get involved from the moment a feature is scoped, and catch issues before our clients ever notice them: product quality, client confidence, and reliability at scale. Here, AI isn't a side experiment — it's how we test, and you're one of the people deciding what that looks like next.

**AI isn't a side experiment — it's how we test.**

## Requirements

- HardSkills

- Cross browser Web/UI functional & exploratory testing
- API testing (Postman/REST), HTTP, JSON
- Risk-based test design: boundary, edge, negative cases
- AI-assisted test creation: using LLM tools (e.g. Claude Code) to generate test scenarios, surface edge cases and identify coverage gaps
- Prompt-based debugging and triage: using AI tools to help investigate failures, logs and error patterns, and support root cause analysis
- Basic SQL for data validation
- Reading logs / error monitoring (Sentry, ELK or CloudWatch or similar)
- Git/GitHub, CI/CD and regression suite concepts
- Code-reading fluency in TypeScript: able to read, review, and judge the correctness of AI-generated test code — not just run it

- Nice to have:

- Understanding of entitlements + subscription/payment flows

- SoftSkills

- Product & client mindset: flair to understand usability, robustness and security of our features and product as a whole
- Ownership and curiosity: raises risks early
- AI-forward: enthusiastic about AI, uses it to its fullest potential
- Comfortable with ambiguity and a changing operating model
- Collaborative - shares quality feedback and best practices with developers

- Software/Tools

- Playwright, TypeScript, Postman, AWS are used on a daily basis: proficiency in Playwright and TypeScript is expected; working familiarity with Postman and AWS is sufficient
- AI tools like Claude Code and OpenSpec are a part of our way of working
- Expect exposure to SQL, Git/GitHub and Release Management
- Debugging and fault-finding abilities are highly desirable. Good to have the ability to not just raise bug tickets, but also help postmortem and find root cause, including with the use of appropriate AI tools

### Your responsibilities:

1) Be an AI power user

Generate test scenarios and edge cases from acceptance criteria using Claude Code

Draft and extend Playwright/TypeScript tests AI-first, then review and harden them

Triage flaky tests and turn Sentry/log noise into clean, reproducible reports

Build your own AI-assisted testing playbook and share what works with the squad

2) Apply judgment on top of AI-generated coverage

AI generates the first pass of test scenarios and edge cases — your job is deciding what it missed. Perform functional, exploratory, UX, and integration testing that goes beyond what a model would think to check: the flows that break for reasons no acceptance criteria captured, the edge cases that only show up when you actually use the product like a client would. This is where AI-generated coverage ends and your product sense takes over.

3) Champion a proactive client approach to monitoring

Intercept issues before they impact users by contributing to automated regression and platform monitoring. Participate in regular sessions testing real production flows and translate findings into actionable insights for client-facing teams.

4) Support quality ownership across the team (Shift Left)

Support developers in strengthening first-line testing practices, sharing feedback and best practices. Review developer test evidence at code review when needed, and step in for complex, cross-system, or client-impacting work.

5) Proactive engagement

Join feature scoping with Product and help draft the test plan before code is written — using AI to scaffold the plan, then refining it with your own read on risk. Support the definition of clear acceptance criteria and validation steps so quality is built in, not inspected afterward. Support and help structure user acceptance testing for the features you've scoped
