**Workplace:** hybrid

**Department:** Managed Access

## Description

**Start your career in Real-World Data & Clinical Database Programming**

Clinigen is a rapidly growing global specialty pharmaceutical services business with a unique combination of services across the pharmaceutical lifecycle. We currently have over 1,000 employees headquartered in the UK with global offices in the US, EU (Belgium, Germany, France), Asia Pacific and South Africa.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for a **Junior Real-World Data Database Programmer** to join our growing Real-World Data team at **Clinigen**. This isn’t a role where we expect you to arrive knowing everything, in fact, we’re particularly interested in people who are **curious, ambitious and excited to learn**.

You will report into our **RWD Database Programmer Lead** who will provide hands-on mentoring and support as you develop your technical skills and confidence, whilst working alongside colleagues across the RWD team.

### What will you be doing day to day?

- You’ll be involved in the practical delivery of clinical data projects, helping to build and maintain electronic data capture systems that support the collection of high-quality clinical data.
- You’ll translate study requirements into user-friendly electronic forms, support testing and validation, investigate data issues and help ensure systems are accurate, compliant and fit for purpose.
- You’ll start by supporting simpler activities and, as your knowledge and confidence grow, progressively take ownership of more complex work. Over time, you’ll become increasingly involved in solving technical challenges, working independently and identifying ways to improve how the team works.

### What will you learn?

You’ll build your expertise across areas including:

- Database design and programming
- Electronic Data Capture (EDC) systems, including Castor
- eCRF design and build
- Testing and validation
- Data transformation and integration
- Clinical data standards, including CDASH
- Data quality, compliance and audit requirements

You’ll receive close mentoring and hands-on development, giving you the opportunity to build both technical capability and confidence.

### We’re looking for potential, not perfection

You could be a recent graduate, or have **1-2 years’ experience** in data, technology, life sciences, clinical research or a related environment.

You don’t need extensive clinical data or EDC experience. What matters most is that you are:

- Curious and eager to learn
- Comfortable asking questions
- Proactive and willing to contribute ideas
- Analytical and detail-oriented
- Adaptable and open to new ways of working
- A strong communicator and team player
- Interested in finding better ways to solve problems

We have a strong culture of **innovation and continuous improvement**, so we want someone who doesn’t just follow a process, but naturally thinks, _“Is there a better way of doing this?”_

### Where could this take you?

This is designed as a long-term career opportunity, with a clear technical pathway:

**Junior Database Programmer → Database Programmer → Senior → Principal**

There are also opportunities to explore different career paths across the wider organisation as your experience develops.

You’ll be joining a growing function at an exciting point in its development, with the opportunity to learn from experienced colleagues, take on increasing responsibility and make a real contribution to the way we deliver high-quality clinical data.

If you’re looking for your **first opportunity to build a career in Real-World Data, clinical data programming and healthcare technology**, we’d love to hear from you.
