## Description

The Family Services Specialist supports the recruitment, enrollment, engagement, attendance, and ongoing support of children and families participating in our early childhood education programs. This role builds meaningful partnerships with families, helping them identify strengths, goals, and resources that promote family well-being and children's success.

The Family Services Specialist serves as a trusted resource for families, connecting them to community supports, encouraging active participation in program activities, and collaborating with staff and community partners to ensure positive outcomes for children and families. This position combines relationship-building, advocacy, outreach, and case management to create a welcoming and supportive experience for every family.

## Requirements

-   Coordinate recruitment, enrollment, and family onboarding activities.
-   Build and maintain positive partnerships with families throughout their program experience.
-   Connect families with community resources and support services, including health, education, housing, employment, and social service resources.
-   Monitor attendance patterns and partner with families to address barriers to regular attendance.
-   Conduct home visits and family conferences in accordance with program requirements.
-   Support family engagement activities, workshops, leadership opportunities, and governance participation.
-   Assist families with transitions into, within, and beyond the program.
-   Maintain accurate documentation, records, and data within agency systems.
-   Collaborate with teachers, site leadership, and community partners to support family and child outcomes.
-   Participate in meetings, trainings, professional development activities, and community outreach events as assigned.

### Qualifications

-   High School Diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Family Studies, Early Childhood Education, Psychology, or a related field preferred.
-   Family Development Credential (FDC) required or willingness to obtain.
-   Minimum of two (2) years of experience in family services, social services, community outreach, case management, or a related field.
-   Experience working in a publicly funded preschool, Head Start, or Early Head Start program preferred.
-   Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
-   Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural, social, and economic backgrounds.
-   Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data management systems.
-   Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain confidentiality, and work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
