# Senior Full-Stack Web Developer

## Description

We’re looking for an experienced **Full-Stack Web Developer, preferably at Senior level**, to join our team and take a key role in maintaining, supporting and evolving a portfolio of established web projects.

Our company is currently expanding its focus toward **AI, automation and intelligent digital products**. At the same time, we maintain a significant portfolio of custom web platforms and websites that require experienced technical ownership.

This is therefore not primarily a role about building new WordPress websites from scratch.

We’re looking for someone who is comfortable jumping into an existing project, understanding how it works, identifying what is going wrong, and finding the right solution.

### What you'll be doing

Your day-to-day work will include:

-   Maintaining and supporting existing production websites and web applications
-   Investigating and resolving bugs, unexpected behaviour and production issues
-   Understanding and working with existing/custom codebases
-   Developing new features and extending existing functionality
-   Maintaining and extending custom WordPress themes and plugins
-   Troubleshooting issues across the full stack — from front-end JavaScript and CSS to PHP, databases, APIs and server configuration
-   Working with third-party APIs and external services
-   Investigating performance, compatibility and integration issues
-   Handling WordPress/plugin/core updates where appropriate and resolving problems caused by them
-   Improving existing code when necessary rather than simply applying temporary fixes
-   Using Git and following a structured development/deployment workflow
-   Collaborating directly with the rest of the development team on technical decisions and complex issues

A large part of the job is **problem solving**.

Sometimes the task will be clearly defined: _“We need to add this feature.”_

Other times it will simply be: _“This stopped working. Find out why.”_

We need someone who is comfortable with both.

## Requirements

We're primarily interested in **strong development fundamentals and problem-solving ability**, rather than knowledge of a particular framework.

You should have solid professional experience with:  

-   PHP
-   JavaScript
-   HTML5 / CSS3
-   MySQL / relational databases
-   WordPress development
-   Custom WordPress themes and plugins
-   REST APIs and third-party integrations
-   Git
-   Debugging and troubleshooting production systems
-   Responsive and cross-browser development

Most importantly, you should be able to **read code you didn't write, understand an unfamiliar system, trace problems across different layers and find reliable solutions.**

### Senior-level experience

For a Senior candidate, we'd expect you to be comfortable taking ownership of technical problems without requiring detailed instructions for every step.

You should be able to take an issue from:

**problem → investigation → diagnosis → solution → implementation → testing**

and know when a quick fix is appropriate and when the underlying problem needs to be addressed properly.

Experience with Linux servers, hosting environments, DNS/CDN services, caching, deployment workflows, security or performance optimization is a strong plus.

### Where we're heading

While this role initially focuses heavily on our existing web portfolio, our technical direction is increasingly moving toward **AI-powered applications, automation and new digital products**.
