**Workplace:** remote

**Department:** CloudLinux

## Description

At CloudLinux we build the platform and the security that a large share of the world's web hosting runs on — CloudLinux OS, Imunify360, and KernelCare/TuxCare — solving hard systems problems at real-world scale across millions of servers.

This is a program for people at the start of their engineering career who have the potential to become exceptional over time. We hire for how you think, not for what you already know — and if you're a strong fit, you join full-time from the start.

### What you'll work on

You'll take on real tasks from our products alongside an experienced engineer who supports you as you grow more independent. Depending on the team, that could mean features in CloudLinux OS, kernel live-patching in KernelCare/TuxCare, or the infrastructure and tooling behind our Linux and security products.

### What we look for

- Curiosity — you want to understand how things work, and explore beyond what's required.
- Agency — you don't wait for perfect instructions; when information is missing, you go find it.
- Learning velocity — you pick up new things fast and put them into practice.
- Resourcefulness — when one approach is closed, you find another.
- Systems thinking — you look past the immediate task to the why, the trade-offs, the bigger picture.
- Reflection — you can honestly say what you know, what you don't, and what you'd try next.

A candidate we'd be excited to hire can meet an unfamiliar problem and think: "I don't know the answer yet, but I know how to start figuring it out."

### Nice to have

None of these are required, but they're signals we like to see: personal projects built out of curiosity, open-source contributions, CTFs or hackathons, learning technologies beyond coursework, and a genuine interest in Linux, security, or systems.

### What we don't require

You do not need a Computer Science degree, a specific university, prior industry experience, competitive-programming wins, or existing expertise in Linux or security. These can be advantages, but none are prerequisites.

### How the process works

Instead of a CV screen, we start with a real engineering problem — a short, practical challenge that a hosting-security product actually needs.

1. Apply — a couple of minutes (autofill from your CV or LinkedIn).
2. We email you a personal link to the challenge. You take it when you're ready; access is open for a limited window.
3. ~1–2 hours, revealed in phases. You gather context from an AI "product owner," and AI tools are expected — with AI, working code is the easy part, so we're interested in your judgment: the approach you choose, how you adapt when requirements change partway through, and what you accept, reject, and verify.
4. It's deliberately larger than you can finish — we watch how you prioritise, not whether you complete every part. There are no trick questions and no single "right answer."

### What's in it for you?

- Fully remote work with flexible hours — schedule your day and work from anywhere in the world.
- 24 paid vacation days a year, 10 national holidays, and unlimited sick leave.
- Compensation for private medical insurance.
- Co-working and gym/sports reimbursement.
- A dedicated education budget.
- A reward for the most innovative idea the company can patent.
- A real focus on professional development, on interesting and challenging projects.

### Ready to start figuring it out?

That's exactly the mindset we hire for. Apply below — we'll be in touch by email with your challenge link. We're excited to hear from you!
