**Position Summary:** The Health and Safety Coordinator supports the organization's health and safety initiatives by coordinating safety programs, maintaining compliance documentation, conducting training, and assisting with incident prevention efforts. This position works closely with leaders and employees to promote a safe work environment, ensure compliance with applicable regulations, and foster a culture of safety throughout the organization.

**Responsibilities:**

-   Coordinate and administer company health and safety programs and initiatives.
-   Conduct routine safety inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
-   Investigate workplace incidents, injuries, and near misses; document findings and assist with corrective actions.
-   Maintain OSHA logs, safety records, training documentation, and other compliance-related files.
-   Coordinate new hire safety orientation and facilitate ongoing safety training programs.
-   Track employee completion of required safety training and certifications.
-   Partner with supervisors and managers to address safety concerns and promote proactive hazard identification.
-   Assist with the development, implementation, and communication of safety policies, procedures, and work instructions.
-   Participate in safety committee meetings and prepare reports, metrics, and presentations related to safety performance.
-   Coordinate emergency preparedness activities, including drills and response planning.
-   Assist with workers' compensation reporting, injury management, and return-to-work processes.
-   Maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) inventory and coordinate distribution to employees.
-   Stay current on applicable federal, state, and local health and safety regulations and recommend process improvements as needed.
-   Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

## Requirements

**Education and Qualifications**

-   Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, or a related field preferred.
-   Minimum of two (2) years of experience in health and safety within a manufacturing environment.
-   Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) certification preferred; ability to obtain certification upon hire required.
-   Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and general workplace safety principles.
-   Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
-   Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
-   Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
-   Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are a plus.

**Physical Demands:**

-   Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, and climb stairs for extended periods.
-   Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 45 pounds.
-   Ability to travel throughout manufacturing and warehouse areas on a regular basis.
-   Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and safely navigate production environments.

**Working Conditions:**

-   Work is performed in both office and manufacturing environments, 80% of the day will be on the production floor.
-   This is a multi-site role - the employee will work primarily on-site at the Pine Bluff facility, with regular travel between the Pine Bluff and White Hall facilities.
-   Frequent exposure to industrial settings, including moving equipment, noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
-   Occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions when conducting inspections or responding to incidents.
-   May require flexibility in work schedule to support multiple shifts, training sessions, investigations, or emergency situations.
-   Must be able to respond promptly to workplace incidents and spend extended periods on the production floor when necessary.
