**About the role**

The AI Engineering Team Lead is a senior, hands-on engineering leader responsible for delivering high-impact, AI-enabled software while guiding a small team of AI Engineers. This role combines deep individual contribution with day-to-day technical leadership, ensuring that AI is applied effectively, responsibly, and at production scale.

This is not a management-heavy or research-oriented role. Team Leads remain deeply involved in building systems, writing code, and applying AI directly to real problems, while also mentoring engineers and maintaining a high bar for execution.

## Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.  
Deep, hands-on experience designing and operating agentic AI systems in production, including autonomous tool use and multi-step workflows.  
**Strong mastery of Model Context Protocols (MCPs) or equivalent approaches, including defining and enforcing patterns used by a team.**  
**Strong technical understanding of AI models, including:**  
o Model names, versions, and parameter scales  
o Context window limitations and strategies  
o System prompts vs. user prompts  
o Trade-offs between models (latency, cost, reasoning quality, reliability)  
Experience working with both frontier and open-source models, and making informed decisions between them. \\  
Proven experience scaling AI systems, addressing latency, cost optimization, caching, parallelization, and architecture trade-offs.
