### **Orthopedic Surgeon – Joint Replacement (MD/DO)**

### **Position Summary**

The Orthopedic Joint Replacement Surgeon provides comprehensive surgical and non-surgical care for patients with degenerative and traumatic conditions affecting the hip, knee, and other major joints. This role focuses on primary and revision joint arthroplasty, perioperative management, and long-term functional outcomes, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary care team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

### **Essential Duties and Responsibilities**

-   Evaluate and manage patients with degenerative joint disease, arthritis, and joint-related musculoskeletal conditions
-   Perform primary and revision joint replacement procedures, including hip and knee arthroplasty, consistent with training and privileges
-   Utilize minimally invasive, robotic-assisted, or advanced surgical techniques as appropriate
-   Provide non-operative management including injections, physical therapy planning, and medical optimization
-   Manage perioperative and postoperative care, including complications and recovery planning
-   Participate in emergency and on-call orthopedic coverage as required
-   Interpret diagnostic studies including X-rays, CT scans, MRI, and other imaging
-   Collaborate with anesthesiology, hospitalists, physical therapy, nursing, and case management teams
-   Educate patients regarding diagnosis, treatment options, surgical risks, and expected outcomes
-   Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
-   Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and outcomes initiatives
-   Supervise and educate residents, fellows, advanced practice providers, or trainees as applicable
-   Comply with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards

### **Qualifications**

-   Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school
-   Completion of an accredited orthopedic surgery residency program
-   Fellowship training in adult reconstruction or joint replacement surgery
-   Board-eligible or board-certified in Orthopedic Surgery
-   Ability to obtain and maintain unrestricted state medical licensure
-   DEA registration or eligibility

-   Hospital operating rooms, outpatient clinics, ambulatory surgery centers, and inpatient units
-   Call coverage including nights, weekends, and holidays as required

### **Physical Requirements**

-   Ability to stand for extended periods during surgical procedures
-   Manual dexterity and physical stamina for operative cases
-   Visual and auditory acuity sufficient for operative and clinical care
