### **Endocrinologist (MD/DO)**

Must be legally licensed to practice medicine in North Dakota and/or Minnesota, depending on the location of the practice to which you are assigned

### **Position Summary**

The Endocrinologist provides comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and management of disorders of the endocrine system. This role focuses on hormonal and metabolic conditions through evidence-based medical care, patient education, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to optimize long-term patient outcomes.

### **Essential Duties and Responsibilities**

-   Evaluate and manage patients with endocrine and metabolic disorders including diabetes mellitus, thyroid disease, adrenal disorders, pituitary disorders, osteoporosis, and lipid abnormalities
-   Diagnose and treat complex hormonal imbalances and metabolic conditions
-   Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans
-   Provide outpatient endocrinology care and inpatient consultation services as needed
-   Interpret and manage endocrine-related diagnostic testing and laboratory studies
-   Collaborate with primary care providers and specialists such as cardiology, nephrology, oncology, surgery, and obstetrics as appropriate
-   Educate patients and families regarding disease processes, treatment options, and lifestyle management
-   Supervise and collaborate with advanced practice providers, diabetes educators, and trainees as applicable
-   Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
-   Participate in quality improvement, population health, and patient safety initiatives
-   Comply with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards

### **Qualifications**

-   Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school
-   Completion of an accredited internal medicine or pediatrics residency program
-   Completion of an accredited endocrinology fellowship program
-   Board-eligible or board-certified in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism
-   Ability to obtain and maintain unrestricted state medical licensure
-   DEA registration or eligibility

-   Manual dexterity for examinations and office-based procedures
-   Visual and auditory acuity sufficient for patient assessment
