**Workplace:** remote

## Description

As Senior Corporate Policy Manager, you serve a critical role in Compassion's central objective to improve animal welfare and environmental sustainability in our food system: your core responsibility is to establish and cultivate strong relationships with major food companies. Leveraging internal expertise and resources and drawing upon your own professional experience and knowledge of the food industry, you advise CIWF’s food company partners on animal welfare best practices for their supply chains and guide them through implementation.

Above all else, you’re a people person. You enjoy meeting new people and find it easy to connect in conversation. You’re ready to travel frequently for in-person meetings and to attend conferences to learn about industry and meet new corporate leaders and potential food industry partners. Whether or not you have a formal sales background, you are adept at providing helpful, compelling information to guide others to make business decisions and changes to fulfill their goals.

When you’re not traveling, meeting virtually with food companies, or maintaining relationships via email, you serve as a collaborative member of the Corporate Policy team, helping build strategies and leading or contributing to projects and resources to assist partner companies. Besides excellent verbal and written communication skills, you have a sharp eye for accuracy and keeping detailed company records updated in real time.

While collaboration is key to this role, it also requires a high level of self-motivation and independence. You have the experience and drive to set and follow through on your relationship-building strategy with minimal guidance. You’re also a quick learner when it comes to both the details of animal welfare issues and the broader industry landscape, staying up to date on industry news and taking the initiative to deepen your understanding of the nuances of farm animal welfare.
