Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking an **RN Manager, Emergency Room** for a top **acute care hospital in Salem, VA**.

This leadership opportunity is ideal for an experienced ER nurse leader who thrives in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. The RN Manager will oversee daily operations of the Emergency Department, ensuring clinical excellence, effective team management, and optimal patient outcomes in alignment with hospital goals and standards.

**Job Responsibilities**

-   Manage Emergency Department staff, operations, and workflow in collaboration with the Director of Emergency Services.
-   Plan and allocate unit resources based on census, acuity, and workload demands.
-   Participate in hiring, onboarding, evaluation, and professional development of nursing staff.
-   Ensure team compliance with all licensure, competency, and continuing education requirements.
-   Maintain department policies, protocols, and quality standards in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines.
-   Promote a culture of patient safety, accountability, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
-   Facilitate effective communication between ED, inpatient units, and ancillary departments to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.
-   Serve as acting department leader in the absence of the Director.

## Requirements

**Education**

-   Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required.
-   **BSN preferred** or current enrollment in a BSN program at an accredited institution.

**Experience**

-   **ER management experience required.**
-   Prior charge nurse experience preferred.

**Licensure/Certifications**

-   Current **RN license in Virginia** or **multi-state compact license**.
-   **AHA BLS** required.
-   **ACLS** within 1 year of hire.
-   **PALS** within 1 year of hire.
-   **Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)** required.

**Skills & Competencies**

-   Proven leadership, communication, and team-building abilities.
-   Strong understanding of emergency nursing standards and clinical protocols.
