**The Volunteer’s Role**

Cuso International is seeking a creative and purpose-driven **Communications Advisor** to bring powerful stories of women’s economic empowerment, skills development, and entrepreneurship to life in Tanzania. Working alongside key local partners, the Tanzania Women Chamber of Commerce (TWCC) and the Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA), you will document and highlight the real-world impact of Special Project Fund (SPF) initiatives supporting women in and around the Geita mining communities.

Through ethical storytelling, photography, and multi-channel content creation, you will amplify participant voices, showcase partner achievements, and raise visibility around how inclusive economic opportunities are being built within the mining sector.

**As a volunteer, your duties will include:**

-   **Impact Storytelling & Content Development:** Research, write, and produce engaging human-interest stories, case studies, feature articles, and newsletters. Capture high-quality photography, short videos, and beneficiary testimonials that highlight participant journeys from training to certification and business growth.
-   **Strategic Communications & Visibility:** Collaborate with Cuso, TWCC, and VETA to design and implement a comprehensive visibility plan covering major project milestones, launch events, training activities, and market linkage opportunities.
-   **Digital & Social Media Management:** Create, curate, and publish dynamic digital content across partner websites and social media platforms to showcase SPF activities and project results to wider audiences.
-   **Institutional Capacity Building:** Support and train TWCC and VETA staff in foundational communication skills, including basic photography, beneficiary interviewing, ethical documentation, and social media management.
-   **Field Documentation & Collaboration:** Partner with program and MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning) teams to identify key project outcomes, field results, and emerging success stories.
-   **Ethical Communication:** Ensure all content adheres to Cuso International’s branding guidelines and strict ethical standards, including securing informed consent before publishing personal stories or media.

**Essential Qualifications:**

-   Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.

**Essential Background:**

-   Background in developing and executing communication strategies, with a portfolio of print and digital content.
-   Strong proficiency in writing, editing, photography, video production, and social media platforms.
-   Ability to deliver practical communications training, strong organizational skills to manage deadlines, high ethical judgment, and the flexibility to work both independently and collaboratively with diverse partners.
