# Quantity Surveyor

> Denison Mines · Saskatoon, Canada · — · Posted 2026-10-09

**Workplace:** on_site

## Description

The **Quantity Surveyor** provides independent estimates for remaining scope, procurement decisions and proposed changes on a remote mine and processing project. The role will make the quantities, rates, productivity, and assumptions behind each estimate visible to support informed project decisions. This role will be based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and require regular travel to project sites located in the Athabasca Basin.

**YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:**

- Prepare and update estimates for civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical, infrastructure and indirect work with discipline input.
- Develop quantity takeoffs and check scope completeness against current design, contracts, site conditions and construction sequence.
- Maintain a basis of estimate that records quantities, unit rates, productivity, allowances, exclusions and uncertainties.
- Provide independent pricing checks for tenders, vendor proposals, change orders and remaining-work forecasts.
- Work with planning and site staff to account for access, logistics, weather, labour availability and construction method.
- Test the cost consequences of design or sequence alternatives and explain the confidence level of each estimate.
- Support cost control without treating an estimate as authorization to change project scope or budget.

## Requirements

You are a detail-oriented estimating professional with experience supporting construction or process-plant projects in mining or comparable industrial environments. You bring strong analytical skills and the ability to evaluate project costs, identify gaps, and communicate estimating assumptions clearly. In addition, you have:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Estimation, Construction Management, or related field
- 5+ years of estimating experience across construction or process-plant disciplines on mining or comparable industrial developments.
- Strong quantity takeoff, rate build-up, benchmarking and estimate-reconciliation skills.
- Ability to evaluate contractor pricing and identify missing scope or optimistic productivity assumptions.
- Clear written basis-of-estimate reports and effective collaboration with discipline engineers and procurement.
