## Description

We are looking for a **Senior Application Engineer** to design, develop, and support integration services, APIs, middleware, and automation capabilities that enable AI-powered business solutions.

The role will focus on building **scalable enterprise integrations, connectors, and services** that allow AI agents and business applications to securely interact with internal and external systems.

We are looking for an engineer who goes beyond simply implementing requirements: someone who understands the **intended business outcome and the wider system context**, identifies assumptions and trade-offs, and can determine when to proceed independently, seek clarification, or challenge a proposed approach.

The ideal candidate combines strong **Python software engineering experience** with practical expertise in APIs, cloud-native applications, integration patterns, automation, and production systems.

**Responsibilities**

-   Design, develop, test, deploy, and troubleshoot production REST APIs and integration services.
-   Build and enhance **MCP (Model Context Protocol) connectors** and enterprise integration frameworks.
-   Develop middleware services connecting AI platforms with enterprise applications and data sources.
-   Create automation capabilities that streamline business processes and AI-assisted workflows.
-   Collaborate with solution architects, product teams, and business stakeholders to define scalable technical solutions.
-   Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical design sessions.
-   Ensure solutions meet security, performance, reliability, scalability, and maintainability standards.
-   Contribute to reusable frameworks, libraries, and integration patterns.
-   Use AI-assisted development tools such as **Codex** in day-to-day engineering and review, test, and validate generated code.
-   Diagnose and resolve production issues while considering both technical root causes and business impact.

## Requirements

-   5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with strong experience in **Python**.

-   Proven experience designing and delivering **production REST APIs**.
-   Strong understanding of API design principles, authentication, authorization, and enterprise integration patterns.
-   Experience building and supporting **cloud-native applications and services**.
-   Understanding of **event-driven architectures** and service-oriented architectures.
-   Hands-on experience with automated testing, CI/CD, code reviews, and production troubleshooting.
-   Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
-   Ability to understand the **business purpose and wider context** behind a technical requirement.
-   Ability to identify assumptions, explain technical trade-offs, and propose alternative approaches when appropriate.
-   Sound technical judgment to determine when to proceed independently, when to request clarification, and when to challenge a requirement.
-   Strong written and verbal communication skills.

**Nice to Have**

-   Experience with **MCP (Model Context Protocol)** or AI agent integration frameworks.
-   Experience building enterprise automation solutions.
-   Experience with front-end or UI development.
-   Experience with **Databricks**, cloud platforms, or enterprise AI systems.
-   Previous experience working in consulting or complex enterprise environments.
-   Experience using AI coding agents such as Codex, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar tools.rn CI/CD workflows and technologies.
