# Legal Manager - Litigation & Dispute Resolution

## Description

Divar is looking for a Legal Manager to lead litigation and dispute resolution across the country. Operating a platform used by millions of people creates legal challenges that cannot always be addressed through conventional litigation practices. This role will manage Divar’s nationwide disputes, oversee external counsel, protect the company in judicial and regulatory proceedings, and develop new legal approaches to prevent organized fraud and misuse of the platform. The successful candidate will work without relying on a large internal litigation team. They will be expected to take ownership, bring together external lawyers and cross-functional teams, and build practical mechanisms from the ground up.

### Responsibilities

-   Own Divar’s portfolio of civil and criminal litigation, from early case assessment and strategy development to hearings, appeals, settlements, and closure.
-   Content Policy Design: Develop content governance frameworks that reduce downstream legal risk and clarify liability boundaries.
-   Select, instruct, and oversee external counsel across different jurisdictions, ensuring consistent legal positions, high-quality work, timely delivery, and effective cost management.
-   Develop scalable processes for case intake, assignment, evidence collection, progress tracking, reporting, and performance evaluation.
-   Initiate and lead strategic legal action against fraud networks and other actors who systematically misuse the platform.
-   Initiate and lead strategic legal action against impersonation, brand misuse, counterfeiting, and copyright/trademark violations.
-   Manage inquiries and disputes concerning allegedly unlawful advertisements, platform obligations, user identification, fraud prevention, and other regulatory matters.
-   Identify recurring patterns across cases and translate litigation experience into preventive recommendations for internal teams.

## Requirements

-   Bachelor’s degree in Law.
-   Active license to practice before Iranian courts.
-   Strong and practical knowledge of Iran’s substantive and procedural laws, judicial structure, and litigation practices.
-   experience in developing case strategy or managing significant legal matters—not merely carrying out procedural tasks.
-   Strong legal drafting, analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
-   Ability to manage multiple matters, stakeholders, and external service providers simultaneously.
-   Professional judgment, resilience, and a high level of personal accountability.

**Preferred Qualifications**

-   Experience managing external counsel or a multi-case litigation portfolio.
-   In-house experience at a technology company, online marketplace, consumer-facing business, or another organization operating at scale.
-   Familiarity with platform liability, e-commerce, cybercrime, consumer protection, digital evidence, or regulatory investigations.
-   Experience engaging with prosecutors, law-enforcement agencies, or regulatory authorities.
-   Ability to communicate professionally in English.
