**Department:** LawConnect

## Description

**About LawConnect**

When people face a legal problem, most don’t know where to start. LawConnect exists to change that - helping everyone understand their situation, build confidence, and find the right legal help when it matters most.

We’re redefining how consumers get legal help by combining AI with our leading lawyer marketplace. Backed by one of the largest legal software companies globally, we bring the stability and resources of an established business with the speed and ambition of a well-funded startup.

This is an environment built around innovation, experimentation, and moving quickly. Small team, real momentum, and a global ambition. You’ll work alongside talented people who care deeply about making legal help accessible to everyone.

**What you’ll do**

You'll be the lawyer inside LawConnect – but not in any way you've practised law before. You'll review our product to make sure what we put in front of consumers is legally sound, build the legal IP that powers our AI, and help us deepen the relationships we need to change how Australians access legal help. Day-to-day, that means partnering with law firms and the wider legal ecosystem to drive adoption, collaborating with our product teams and developers, and being the lawyer who bridges our commercial team with the partners and clients we serve.

Reporting to the Head of Consumer AI, you'll make sure what we build holds up legally – and lands credibly with the lawyers, regulators, and government bodies whose support we need.

**To make this happen you will:**

- Build and nurture relationships across the legal ecosystem – government, legal aid commissions, community legal centres, professional bodies, and law firms in the marketplace
- Help shape the partnerships strategy, turning early interest from partners into formal commercial agreements
- Review LawConnect’s products, content, and user-facing copy so everything we put in front of consumers is legally sound, accurate, and useful
- Build the legal IP behind our AI – writing the “skills” that tell the AI what to look for in matters like separations (coercive control, financial abuse), employment claims, and other consumer legal scenarios
- Test the product end-to-end as a lawyer would – spotting where the AI gets it right, gets it wrong, and where it could go further
- Partner with the existing ATI legal team on broader regulatory and compliance work; own what’s specific to LawConnect

**What you’ll bring**

- Solid experience in a legal environment, with at least 3–5 years working in or closely with Australian law firms.
- Strong commercial instinct and comfort presenting to senior stakeholders, including government, regulators, and partner organisations
- A genuine interest in legal technology and how it can improve the way law firms operate. You don’t need to be technical, but you’re curious, quick to learn, and comfortable getting deep into how software is used in practice Track record of building and maintaining external relationships
- Confidence working cross-functionally, collaborating closely with developers, product and commercial teams.

**You are the type of person who**

- Has strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate concepts, demonstrate functionality and engage stakeholders. Has clear, confident communication skills, with the ability to explain new concepts in plain language and build trust with legal professionals
- Can juggle multiple priorities and work across different teams, keeping things moving while staying focused on what will deliver the most value for clients
- Has a practical, problem-solving mindset, with an eye for what's working, what's not, and how things can be improved over time
- Values collaboration and recognises that diverse perspectives lead to stronger decisions and better outcomes.
- Is naturally curious and proactive, asking thoughtful questions, challenging assumptions and exploring better ways of doing things.
- Is comfortable stepping into ambiguity, helping shape direction where not everything is defined yet.

LawConnect is an inclusive, people-first company committed to breaking down institutional barriers that keep people from reaching their potential. If you meet some, but not all the requirements above, we encourage you to still submit your application.
