## Description

The Head of SME Finance & Lending will be responsible for building, growing, and managing BridgePay's business financing portfolio. This role owns the commercial success of BridgePay's lending products, including customer acquisition, financing origination, portfolio growth, funding partner relationships, and achievement of revenue and lending targets.

The role will focus on providing financing solutions to SMEs and corporate clients, both within the existing DoPay customer base and through new customer acquisition channels. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing a sustainable financing business that drives revenue growth while maintaining strong portfolio quality.

## Requirements

**Key Responsibilities**

**Lending Business Ownership**

· Own the overall growth strategy and commercial performance of BridgePay's financing business.

· Develop annual business plans, lending targets, and growth strategies.

· Drive portfolio growth through both existing DoPay customers and new client acquisition.

· Identify new financing opportunities, products, and customer segments.

· Build BridgePay into a leading financing platform for SMEs and businesses.

**Sales, Origination & Customer Acquisition**

· Own monthly, quarterly, and annual financing origination targets.

· Build and manage a robust pipeline of financing opportunities.

· Develop direct and indirect channels to acquire new borrowing businesses.

· Work closely with DoPay's Sales, Customer Success, and Partnerships teams to generate financing opportunities.

· Lead key customer meetings and commercial discussions.

· Oversee the end-to-end financing process from lead generation to disbursement.

**Portfolio Growth & Management**

· Grow the overall financing portfolio while maintaining healthy risk-adjusted returns.

· Monitor portfolio performance, utilization, repayment behavior, and customer retention.

· Identify opportunities for repeat financing and increased facility sizes.

· Develop strategies to improve customer lifetime value and portfolio profitability.

**Funding & Strategic Partnerships**

· Build and manage relationships with banks, financing companies, investment funds, and other funding partners.

· Negotiate commercial agreements and funding arrangements.

· Secure additional funding capacity to support portfolio growth.

· Identify strategic partnerships that enhance BridgePay's financing offering.

**Product Development & Innovation**

· Work closely with Product and Technology teams to improve financing products and customer journeys.

· Develop new financing products tailored to SME and corporate customer needs.

· Recommend improvements to pricing, underwriting processes, eligibility criteria, and operational workflows.

· Support the digitalization and automation of lending processes.

**Credit & Risk Collaboration**

· Work alongside Risk and Credit teams to balance portfolio growth with portfolio quality.

· Review financing performance metrics and portfolio health indicators.

· Develop strategies to improve approval rates while maintaining acceptable risk standards.

· Support the development of credit policies and risk frameworks.

**Team Leadership**

· Build, lead, and develop the SME Finance team.

· Establish performance objectives and accountability frameworks.

· Foster a high-performance culture focused on growth, execution, and customer success.

· Coach and mentor team members to achieve individual and team goals.

**Reporting & Analytics**

· Monitor lending performance through regular reporting and dashboard management.

· Track pipeline conversion, disbursement volumes, revenue, profitability, and portfolio quality.

· Present business performance updates to senior management.

· Develop forecasts and business cases to support growth initiatives.

**Qualifications & Experience**

**Education**

· Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Banking, or a related field.

· MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is preferred.

**Experience**

· 7+ years of experience in SME lending, commercial banking, business finance, fintech lending, factoring, supply chain finance, or corporate banking.

· Proven track record of originating and growing lending portfolios.

· Experience managing commercial targets and revenue objectives.

· Experience working with SMEs and corporate clients.

· Strong understanding of credit, lending products, and financial analysis.

· Funding capacity secured.

**Success Criteria**

Within the first 12 months, the Head of SME Finance & Lending is expected to:

· Build a predictable financing origination pipeline.

· Achieve agreed financing disbursement and revenue targets.

· Establish strong funding and strategic partner relationships.

· Grow the financing portfolio while maintaining healthy portfolio quality.

· Launch and scale financing products that drive meaningful revenue contribution for DoPay.
